Love that reservations are available. Sunday brunch was super yummy. Filipino breakfast passed muster with my Filipino husband, was delicious. Gluten free options always a gold star for me. Coffee was A+. Not the friendliest service, but also not unfriendly, so I guess it depends if you care about that kind of thing. Most importantly all the food was very well prepared.Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for dairy and gluten issues.

They claim to be a global restaurant but have complete cultural inaccuracies. There’s no such thing as “Israeli” zhug. By claiming that is cultural erasure

We kicked things off with the "World Butter Plate" – nothing fancy, just a fun way to taste different kinds of butter. Then came the mouthwatering Indonesian Pork Belly and the downright amazing South African Bunny Chow. Seriously, they blew us away. And to top it all off, we indulged in the Danish Drømmekage Dream Cake.Overall, the food was out of this world, and I absolutely loved the vibe of the place. It was totally unique.Would definitely visit again

Amazing, we were looking for a good place to eat but couldn't quite hammer down what we were looking for, and we found Nue. We got the Thai water beetles (a must tbh) the war fries and the south African bunny chow. The waiter was patient with us when he was explaining how to eat everything and the food was out of this world with flavor. I would definitely come here again. The decor is also perfectly on theme!

The food here was ok. We tried their chengdu chicken wings, Brazilian acaraje , pita and hummus and the pineapple corn bread. The wings lacked flavor. The others were ok. The service was good. The ambience was quirky

The restaurant is pretty cute and a bit small. Love being able to see the cooks make the food from my table. As for the food, generally okay, unique combinations. Was very different, loved it!

Love the travel-inspired theme and variety of international cuisine. All the food (except water bugs) were very delicious. Highly recommend the Brazilian Acarajé and South African Bunny Chow. As far as the water bugs - if you want to see your friends squirm and have a laugh, then try it. Otherwise, the bugs really don't have much flesh and the taste was not my cup of tea. Would not recommend that dish for the price. Everything else was ? also, don't bother looking for street parking, just park in the public lots as the price is about the sameParking: Don't bother finding street parking, just park in the public lots as the price is about the same

Nue on Capitol Hill isn't just a dining spot; it's a small, charming, and undeniably hipster haven where culinary adventures await. Stepping into Nue feels like entering a cozy retreat, where each dish promises to surprise and delight. My recent visit to Nue left me wanting more, and I'm excited to share my experience. To kick off our journey, we started with the Beirut Style Hummus—an absolute treat served with warm, fluffy pita bread. The creamy texture and flavorful blend of tahini, lemon, and garlic made for a perfect appetizer, setting the stage for what was to come.We ordered the Portuguese Peri Peri Chicken Sandwich. Picture tender chicken, marinated in a fiery Peri Peri sauce, nestled between slices of toasted artisan bread, and topped with crisp lettuce and ripe tomato. Each bite was a burst of bold flavors, perfectly balancing spice and freshness.Next up was the South African Bunny Chow—a dish that stole the show with its bold and comforting flavors. Savoring the aromatic curry served in a hollowed-out loaf of bread was an experience in itself, transporting me to the streets of South Africa with every bite. This was shockingly amazing! The ambiance at Nue perfectly complements the eclectic menu, with its quirky decor and laid-back vibe. The attentive service only added to the charm, making our dining experience truly memorable. In conclusion, Nue on Capitol Hill is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary adventure waiting to be explored. Whether you're a food enthusiast or a curious diner seeking new experiences, Nue promises to delight your taste buds and ignite your sense of wanderlust.

Taking this rating down from 5* to 3*Food is still excellent, consistent and flavorful. However, the FOH at this restaurant is a complete disaster. Rude hostess, server providing hospitality that's worse than the DMV. Get your acts together.Another note: the restaurant also has a 5% service charge that is "not a tip." In what land is a service charge not a gratuity? Oh, this one. Stop making political statements and just raise your prices a dollar an item if you can't operate a restaurant without adding in a service charge to pay for your employee's benefits.
