Pie Bar - Phinney is a cozy and exclusive spot, reminiscent of a speakeasy. The menu features a variety of delicious options, including the highly-recommended Forager and Apple Crumble pies. Customers can enjoy the convenient walk-up window or explore the impressive inside of the bar. The cocktail menu is extensive, with a large selection of liquor and outstanding drinks.
The Phinney location offers nice seating and decor, and dining in is recommended because the pie is served with ice cream. The service is prompt and friendly. Customers can enjoy both sweet and savory pies, such as the chicken pot pie, mushroom savory pie, apple pie, and the turkey/rice/broccoli savory pie. The savory pies come with a generous side salad including feta cheese. However, the restaurant has a policy of not allowing children under 18 due to the bar, and customers may have to wait around 20 minutes for a slice of pie or even longer for a whole pie.
Some visitors found the space to be tight, with confusing signage and multiple doors. The selection of pies and house cocktails was considered limited, mostly leaning toward sweet options. One customer was disappointed with the banana cream pie, noting the crust was stale, lacked real banana, and was small for the price. The drinks, like the Key Lime Pie-Tini and Pumpkin Pie-Tini, were crafted well, with the latter being a perfect Egg-Nog flavor. The atmosphere can get crowded, especially on a Friday night with a lively party vibe and many younger guests, which might not appeal to everyone. Overall, some visitors were hopeful for more consistent quality and a better experience, but the friendly staff and cozy setting remain highlights.
