Hands down the only place I get pie or quiche, and my daughter loves pockets pies so much she even requested to be called a pocket pie. 10/10 recommend.

Dessert is, so often, relegated to the unfortunate role of an afterthought. Treated as a cliche, second-fiddle to savory courses, a half-baked gimmick or worse yet- simply abandoned to "safe" choices requiring the minimum amount of work. I say this as somebody often disappointed with the price I pay for sweet goods either in restaurants or bakeries. Personally, I feel that pie as a format is one most often poorly-treated (though this may be because it is my favorite genre of dessert, and my standards are higher).
Bottom Line: If I'm going to indulge myself, it ought to be worth it.

Pie Bird is one of the few excellent establishments which is, because it is a truly local, modern business that elevates these culinary orphans often seen as too ordinary for the relative effort. I've enjoyed these pies on a number of occasions now, and I can confidently state that they neither suffer from a dearth of creative intrigue, nor do they feel a need to overcompensate by being as quirky as possible. They taste like the people who made them care.

They are humbly interesting.
They have a curious personality behind them.
They are unapologetically delicious.

I dare you to find better pie for sale in this city.

I got one of their cherry pockets at the U District farmer’s market, and it was actually melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Mind blowing! So good, buttery, and fresh. A wonderful treat!!!

Just ok. If you've ever had a homemade pie, this will disappoint. Definitely not worth $42(!!!) in my opinion. ??‍♂️

Thr Chocolate Bourbon Pecan pie was a huge hit with my family. Rich and sinful flavors... none left. ???

She has single handedly converted me to pies! Unbelievable crusts and fillings. The quiche every month is over the top. Cinnamon rolls the best and the chocolate orange babka… insane! Get on her monthly delivery list right now and you’ll see why there is no better way to blow your calories!

For the last 2 years, I’ve ordered pies from Pie Bird Bakeshop for myself and my clients. This year I got the pumpkin and a pecan pie. Both were phenomenal. Hannah was so great to work with and Definitely will order again next year.

Tried the pecan pie for the first time this holiday and it was terrific! The crust is the best. Will buy again.

The chocolate tahini pie is so good (the plain chocolate too!). I visit the university district farmer’s market just to get it.
