Romantic down to earth date night... I absolutely love the food and atmosphere and really enjoyed the wine selection with dinner. Very lovely staff as well. (PS. Date night was with our two kiddos, but they also had a great time and lived desert menu* Happy 5th Birthday Liam)

Spencer at the Martina location was impeccable. It was our first time at Red cow and our anniversary and we felt special. The card at the table was a nice touch and the surprise champagne for the occasion was delightful. Thank you.We ordered the escargot, chicken liver and the burger. All great.

Given the restaurant is specialized in serving steak frites, I’m basing my review on that main menu item.As someone that enjoys steak, I went with the ribeye. The steak reminded me of a low quality bulk-food store steak that was cooked from frozen, starting in the microwave before being finished on a pan or flame. If the menu price was $20-25 in a high cost of living place like Seattle, this may have been excusable. But for $75 + tax + a mandatory 22% service charge… I’m honestly dumbfounded and think the Ethan Stowell brand should be ashamed of the food this restaurant is serving. This restaurant has turned be off from wanting to try any of the other restaurants in the Stowell portfolio. I’d honestly rather get a $25 ribeye from Applebees. To not be completely negative, some of the appetizers were solid. If it wasn’t such a negative experience with the steak served for the price, I’d consider coming here for happy hour and appetizers

Lovely, albeit small space . Great service . Solid cocktail menu . Wine menu was good , but limited . Not much beer selection ( not surprising ) so be prepared for that if that’s important for you . Steak cuts were good and cooked appropriately but could be more aggressively seasoned . Olive appetizer was a great portion for the price ; but a little one note . Needed more citrus and Calabrian chili to cut the oil . Both were noted in the description but not tasted in the dish: the frites - they were spectacular ! Stayed crunchy and warm through the dinner ! Garlic aioli served with them was perfectly balanced . I think that they want to tell a story with certain Dishes, pairings and presentations but it isn’t always clear what that story is . But still a Great spot for a date night - we will definitely go back for happy hour and try some different things bc the appetizer and happy hour menu has some tempting items we didn’t have room for this trip .

It was our first time at Red Cow and we had a wonderful experience. We ordered almost everything off the happy hour menu and the stand out was the beef tartare and the chicken liver mousse with apple butter. Next time I'll be sure to try their other items.

We always love going to Red Cow! The staff are always so welcoming. We usually get any of the steaks or the pork chop as our entree, but any other entree we've ordered has also exceeded our expectations! The bread and butter is divine. The roasted beets we had tonight were pretty dreamy! We favor sitting on the patio, but indoor dining is lovely too. It's one of our two go-to places for a nice dinner out.

Very good food. The steaks are great of course, but the sides and other entrees also hold up to the same standard.

Great spot to hit while on the way out on a date. Intimate but not pretentious. Food is commensurate with the location. May become a regular date-night stop.

Awful steak frites - $66 for a terrible steak (very tough) and fries that tasted like Red Robin served lukewarm. Very slow kitchen. Server response to feedback was he never eats that cut! Loved Red Cow when living in Madrona some years ago - won’t be back.

Drinks aren’t very good, food is over priced, some of the food is just straight up bad - some is just ok, but the ok turns into awful when you see the bill. I would never recommend to

I have been to many Ethan Stowell Restaurants, and been underwhelmed by all of them. This is the first time that I had a good meal with not a single bad dish, and during(accidentally) during Restaurant Week which is usually when they try the least. The food was both flavorful and generously sized for the (relative) cost.

Really enjoyed this place...first went for Seattle Restaurant Week, and liked it so much we went back a few days later for business dinner with some new clients in town. Pork Chop might be the best I've ever had...
