Probably one of the most flavorful bolognese sauces I've ever had, and the service was good. Unfortunately the portions were too small to ignore for the price, which should never be a problem at an Italian restaurant. (I ordered a dinner size plate & it felt more like a light lunch plate)
I might be in the minority here, but I didn't think this Italian restaurant lived up to the hype--despite it coming highly recommended by a friend.
I ordered a pizza, Artichoke & Mushroom, which was unlike any I've had before, and not in a good way. The sauce had an odd flavor, the crust was slightly burnt, and the toppings were sparse. To be fair, I'm not a huge pizza fan to begin with, but nothing else on the menu really appealed to me....

My wife and I used to go to the location on Capitol Hill in Seattle for years. Years ago. When we heard that Machiavelli had moved to Edmonds, we had to check it out. We live out near Port Gamble, so it was not a choice of convenience. We were going largely for the nostalgia of it. In Seattle, it was always packed with a line out the door.
We arrived when they opened for happy hour and we started with the Happy Hour Menu, including Negroni sbagliato cocktails and a Caprese...
