Long overdue review for this long time favorite venue in Columbia City. On my most recent visit, i was pleasantly surprised by some menu updates. The carnitas were especially awesome! Service from Michael was spot on. Crowd was super friendly and music was excellent, though it seemed the sound system or sound crew was having some glitchy issues. The Royal Room does an excellent job of creating musical community and a great space for food, artful enjoyment, and sometimes even participation! (My first visit years ago was a Sinead singalong.)
Great space and very cool mural of the construction in the style of Thomas Hart Benton. Lots of space for a comfortable live music experience. The food is shockingly diverse, but hit and miss on quality.
