I’d never had congee before and I’m SO glad this was one of the only places open first thing in the morning in Ballard.

It’s a quaint little spot really close to the water. The menu is small, but everything is well-executed. I got the Pork Meatball Congee and added some of the unknown condiments that were on the table for some spice. Finally stopped in on a rainy afternoon. This is the perfect warm comfort food, full of bold flavors. Highly recommend a side of the fried dough for dipping. There are a few tables inside and outside and free Wi-Fi!

Today was a grey day that called for porridge. The tastiest lunch spot! Limited hours, but perfect for today. The covered porch was cozy and quiet with a heated stove. We ordered mushroom salad, fried doughnut, thai meatball congre & halibut cheeks congee. All delicious and hot and flavorful. Will be back to try the monthly specials.
