Didn't try the food, but service isn't great. I made a reservation by phone for two ahead of time, when I showed up they said they needed to ask about it, then we waited for ten minutes while they bused tables, seated another party without a reservation, and didn't even speak to us or make eye contact despite the small size of the restaurant. We went elsewhere.I wouldn't be bothered if they told us what was going on, as it was I felt like they had forgotten about us. If they don't want to take reservations, they shouldn't.

We loved the Bruce Lee roll! Some might call the service "slower" but I just call it a busy dinner rush. AKA, don't be unrealistic if you show up at dinner time and expect everything the second you order it. They were all busting and the servers were super kind. Great experience! Will definitely go back.

Kayla is the best server! Always makes us feel like we’re with a friend and it’s fun to catch up. Sushi always consistent and lovely.Faves: Honey roll, Ninja roll, fried stuffed jalapeños, crispy spicy tuna, all great with a draft beer or sake ?

Shiku is my favorite sushi restaurant and one of my favorite all-time restaurants! I’ve been coming here for nearly 5 years. The Bruce Lee roll, Salt & Pepper roll, Monkey Brains, and Chicken Kara-Age are my favorite menu items. They always do their best to accommodate my friends’ special dietary requirements, which is appreciated. The bartenders are cool and the servers are very friendly and knowledgeable (thank you, Raechel)! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Try the Yuzu Lime Drop cocktail or one of the sakes on their sake menu. Plus, they have an amazing happy hour with great prices!

Came here on a whim after Asadero didn't work out and was not disappointed! My fiance got the chirashi bowl and I had a specialty roll that had honey and spicy mayo and I think salmon, both really satisfying. Staff gave us some good recommendations for sake. We will be back!

I’m always glad I stop here when I’m in town! Sat at the bar and interacted with the new manager Kayla who was so friendly and very knowledgeable about the area! She gave me some great recommendations for after dinner entertainment too. I had the chefs choice Nigiri and was NOT disappointed! The sunomono salad was a perfect little appetizer as well.I hadn’t been in a couple years and I am so glad the quality can still be counted on.

Shiku is my favorite place to go in Ballard! The fish is good, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. If you’ve never had sushi before, they are very accommodating and are more than happy to teach you how to order. At the same time, more seasoned sushi eaters will appreciate the high quality fish and the creative rolls! I always have a great time when I come to shiku, the staff are very attentive, warm, and helpful!

I have been to Shiku many times in the past, and previously would have rated this place at least a 4/5. Unfortunately, my last experience here was quite unpleasant. When we arrived, we noted several open bar seats and two open but dirty tables. No one else was waiting ahead of us, but somehow it took the staff almost 5 minutes to greet us. They said they would need to clear the tables before seating and it should be just a short wait. Nearly 10 minutes to by before anyone actually clears the table and wipe sit down. I would have left by then, but my friends really wanted sushi, so we waited it out. Once sat, it was over 5 minutes before anyone approached our table with water. Then another 5 minutes go by with no contact. Then another. Finally, we had had enough and left. No apologies for the wait on the way out the door either. Appalling service. Only go here if you'd like to be ignored.
