Went here for lunch. I had the sushi bento (see photo) plus a special roll (Sunset is the name, it has eel). The sushi bento has tuna, yellowtail, salmon, albacore, shrimp nigiri, crispy rice with crab meat, etc. The bento itself was filling enough. It was good, the fish was fresh, the miso was flavorful but not too salty, and the portions were fair.

Major decline in the quality and talent in the kitchen. We were regulars for their Toro Tuesdays and my last visit sitting at the Sushi bar was not okay. Two of the Spanish speaking "Sushi Chefs" a term I use lightly as they are not Sushi chefs, unlike the previous talented chefs who were exceptional. The two seem to think that they are the only two folks who speak Spanish, while I am not fluent I understood enough to know what the conversation was about, it wasn't appropriate to talk about a female client being attractive and your sexual likes if you had the opportunity. We will never go back ever again. I'm not interested in two Spanish speaking kids making Sushi for me at the same price as a Japanese trained Sushi chef who has over 40yrs experience, or his assistant who had over 20yrs experience then on top of it be insulted by the two idiots who messed my order up twice while I'm 1 ft from them who think it's okay to talk about clients in an inappropriate manner. This is coming from someone who spent 15yrs as a chef, from being a line cook to sous chef and then onto executive chef by 25. I've heard it all in the kitchen but when you have an open kitchen you need to have some common sense, plus have a enough sense to know that next to English that Spanish is the second most spoken language here in the US.

The quality of food at Katsu-ya is excellent. My partner and I had the chef's choice of a 5 piece sushi meal and a dinner entree of chicken Katsu. The service was on point and our server was very friendly and helpful. She took the time to explain what each sushi option was, which is nice because apparently this isn't standard service at most places. The food, service, and overall decor of the restaurant all culminated into a wonderful dining ambiance. Will definitely be visiting again!

Service is great. Food is not recommended. They cut the fish way too thin. There was even a broken piece of salmon on my sushi. There are so many sushi restaurants in Seattle are way more better. However, the service was really good. Very friendly although they brought my food to other tables :)

I've been here for lunch and dinner and both times were great! Their pressed sushi is delicious but their lunch special for $22 is a steal for the amount of food they give! Can't go wrong with their sashimi, rolls or cooked fish dishes!

Was in Seattle for work for about a week. This was the best dinner we had. The service was beyond great. The food was delicious. I felt as if we were family. Can't express how much I appreciated how welcomed the server made us feel. Definitely going back whenever I'm near.

Not really a sushi expert by any means. In fact I don't eat any raw meats or fishes. Fresh ingredients, though portions do change in terms of eating in or takeout. Everything I've had from the vegetable roll to the spider roll has been amazing. The service is top notch. A bit more than I would have wanted to normally spend.

I had dinner at this location and was disappointed in the substance of the food. Please note the sushi rolls are smaller than displayed on the menu. Plus they seemed to have to much salt. It was a bit too much for me and left half the dicho on the table. I would recommend you go to other restaurants.

Unbelievably good. An absolute festival for your tastebuds. I ordered the 7 piece combination and every single piece was SO fresh and so delectable. The fish just melts in your mouth. I had to order an extra baked crab roll - it was THAT good. Wait staff is attentive, friendly and as sweet as the mochi finisher. I wanted to dine all over again as soon as I finished. Unfortunately, I'm from California so I'll have to find something equally exquisite when I go home - might be a tough order. Thank you, Katsu-ya for an incredible dining experience here in Seattle.
