What a gem this place is! It’s a bit of a hole in the wall, but worth a stop for lunch. The outdoor appearance isn’t showy at all - I passed by this place several times in the year that I’ve lived downtown, never noticing it. Now that I’ve tried their teriyaki, I’ll be coming back for sure! It’s so flavorful!
Overall, it was an okay experience, but I don't think it lives up to its 4.8-star rating. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out either. The service was fine, the food/product was decent, and everything was acceptable, but it didn't leave much of an impression. If you're expecting something exceptional based on the reviews, you may end up disappointed. I'd probably give it about 3 stars.
I was originally thinking about going in to get a sandwich for lunch but when I saw they had teriyaki chicken i couldn't say no and when the owner suggested the spicy instead I had to say yes. It was 100%, the right move. The spicy chicken was amazingly tender and juicy and the salad cut the spice just right.
And in the time that I was there 4 or 5 different people came in and the man behind the register knew all of them and guessed their orders correctly before...
