Oh my goodness ... Brotherman & company are doing it! Not only did it smell phenomenal in here, the atmosphere was warm and cozy.Brother man came from behind the curtain. Like the wizard of oz, and I immediately got excited. OK OK, okkkkklay , wait, let me back it up. I just lied to you all, I actually got excited when we pulled up. And I saw all the little black illustrations. Mix with the Asian flare, you know. It's always a good day when brown town sticks together!!!Go back to the experience, Like I mentioned, he came from behind the curtain like the wizard of oz..Let me pause for the cause and give a shot out to the INTENTIONALIST, (if ya know, ya know..it's an IG THANG) Because of Laura , get to re-discover my city in a BLACK&BROWN dope kinda way! It's crazy that I am actually from Seattle. But I feel like I take this to stranger in regards to how much it has changed, especially all of the gentrification ??I am so happy and please that for the month of February. The intentionalist Team is offering a BLACK history month pass, which includes ten stops that you can get special free goodies from...Super dope that UMAMI KUSHI was on the list!I'll be honest. I have seen this place a few times going to that corner store, But every single time it is closed, once we drove up on it today, I instantly got excited and knew the full circle of how I felt before even coming to explore. We selected the jerk chicken and curry beef options. Finally, I made it to the house and stuck them in the oven, flipping it over once .. And having the bright idea to take their chimmi-churi sauce and mix it with some spicy Mayo I got from a sushi place. How did the lyrics go??? " I'm in heaven, simply heaven..." Yes, like that.Safe to say. I am from Seattle, like I mentioned before. And I am most Def sleeping on this food. Additionally, if you haven't tried it, so are you!!The flavor was phenomenal, the crunch was superb, it hit all the right taste buds , and it made me say DAMN WHY DIDN'T I BUT ANOTHER ONE??And I'll leave you with this. They even have a tofu option. And I'll be the first to admit proudly. I am not again. I repeat for the people in the back. I'm not not a fan of tofu, but i'm excited to go back and actually select their tofu version as well. This was just a great vibe of a place. It was warm and inviting. The illustrations are so fun that you wanna take the idea home in slap it on your own wall.Brotherman was amazing!! All the way from his respect level, his hospitality. What he stands for is what he's doing. The knowledge he shared is energy and everything in between. We will MOS DEF be back when we can!!Appreciate you for sharing your love and passion in your food , right there off of SEWARD PARK.

Very good. Got the BBQ pork, bulgogi, and curry. All of them were really good. Only thing I would say is that they are very very oily. I understand that it's fried, but the amount of oil on the bag by the time I got home was alarming.

First of all I had to try every single Okazu pan that they had. The first two I had was the beef curry and the bbq pork. Honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the bbq..BUT THAT BEEF CURRY THO! I went right back in the store and ordered more. I also got the black eye pea, pork kimchi, and lentil. The best one is beef curry hands down!! I have been here before when they were brand new years ago. And now I am hooked! Get there early or everything will be gone!

A gem in Seattle! My favorites are the beef curry, bbq pork, lentil, and smoked salmon. Ive never had an okazupan before but the pans are crispy and airy. I saw a review saying that the pans were cold but its always been warm the times Ive gone. I'm also a very big fan of the beignets but you have to eat them fresh since they're not as great cold. I'm excited to see that they opened another location in the central district.

Must try! The bread is amazingly textured, crispy on the outside and delightfully chewy on the inside. BBQ pork option was my favorite, but curry was also on point. Might want to order ahead of time to guarantee they don't run out!

This spot has been on my list to try for a while & I finally had the opportunity to make a visit. Their service was extremely quick & welcoming. The beef curry and salmon okazu pan flavors were sooo good! Once I started eating, I couldn't put it down. Definitely looking forward to trying out their other flavors & beignets during my next visit.

This is a truly unique eating experience, everything on the menu is fantastic but we had the jerk/Peruvian chicken and could not have been happier. I’m normally hesitant about savory buns because they can be too overpowering, but these were absolutely perfectly seasoned and balanced. Incredibly happy we went out of our way to try this!

Came in on a Sunday and decided to order a few of each of their okazu pans. Staff was very friendly and informative as they made sure to ask if it was my first time there. Although my order was quite large, the wait time was quick. I'm glad i'm within walking distance as the walk there is also nice. I think my favorite was the yakisoba and bbq pork. I didn't get a pic, but the beignets were also sooo good!!

Beignets were delicious and the staff was really nice. The bread pudding was gorgeous. Parking was easy.

Great food, but definitely on the expensive side. Good customer service and fun atmosphere.

We had the curry, jerk chicken, and beignets. The beignets are light and fluffy. I could easily eat 6. As for the curry and jerk chicken. I would buy those again and more. Will try the rest of the menu over time. We live in Everett so its a bit of a drive. Love this shop. Hopefully this shop branches out farther north. You guys would make a killing.

Japanese bakery conveniently located along the popular lake Washington loop bike trails. Tried two popular okazu pan breads: baked bbq pork and salmon. Both were delicious. The bakery had 3 small tables to eat and a clean bathroom.

I grew up in Tokyo and ate beef curry okazu pan all the time. The beef curry okazu pan at Umami Kushi is BETTER than anything I've had in Japan while at the same time feeling authentically Japan. I tip my cap to the chef(s).I love so many of the other variations of okazu pan options as well. And the beignets are utterly delicious. Light yet doughy and just the right amount of sweetness.
