“Not only is Char an extremely talented brewer, the atmosphere and set up of the bar is always top notch. We love to stop by during our bike rides to grab a quick drink. Their stouts and IPAs are always amazing, but I particularly love the sours. They also host cool events like art-making and Halloween parties. If you’re looking for a classy but fun place to hang out, and have excellent tasting beer to go with, check out Badass Backyard Brewing.“
“Fantastic Experience! Great place, very friendly and knowledgeable help. The young lady (didn't catch her name) was very positive and patient. She asked pertinent questions, and even had the amber malt I was hoping to find! She did a great job of filling my grain bill and hop list for two beers, while also taking care of the other patrons. Very glad we have Genus!“
“I am a fairly new PNW transplant from AZ and growing to love this inland WA area. If you are looking for an Americanized German experience, look no further. The beers are tasty, the food is tasty, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I have tried all of the current beers and a few prior to date, and they never fail to deliver depth and versatility. I love dark beers, and they have a monthly stout ALWAYS! IPAs are still super popular, so they play to it a bit. However, they still stick to their German/Belgian specialty, and each one will not disappoint. They have a Das Boot challenge, so if you are feeling like a beast or if you have some friends, it is a good time.“
“Nice craft beer selection, I want to say over 40 taps and two refrigerators of cans available for consumption there or to take with you. I enjoyed a flight of 4 different IPAs and a draft of sour. Service was great! Prices are reasonable. I didn't try the food.“
“Love the space. Typical ‘minimalist’ brewery vibe. Lots of space and very clean. Staff is friendly and recommended me a couple beers after asking what sort of flavor profile I liked. The Fluffy Puffy is a home run and one of my fave beers now. Highly recommend.“
“Great brewery with rotating ciders, beers and wines. They have great flavors and an awesome atmosphere. With board game, DnD, and artwork this place always has something to help entertain you and your friends while drinking. Along with great prices and take home jars and growlers. I highly recomend.“
“My husband and I love stopping by here! It's so close to home, we like to take walks that lead us to a fun stop for their varied beers and great, friendly, fun service. This last Sunday we tried Second Breakfast with mimosas and it was a BLAST. We already want to do it again. Thanks guys!!“
“By far the best brisket I’ve ever had. I’ve never been a big fan of brisket fat but that’s my favorite part of their brisket it’s melts in your mouth. Only thing I don’t like from there is their Mac and cheese which I rarely find Mac and cheese I don’t like. I wish they had a baked Mac and cheese and right before it was done through it in the smoker for 10 minutes. I’d come there every day lol.“
“So a little background, when my family travels, we attempt to try out as many breweries and brew pubs as we can. They say so much more about a town than any chain joint can offer. We were in Spokane last weekend to drop my daughter off at University. After going to two breweries in town, we headed out to Mead after I found out that classmates from college ran a microbrewery on their farm. What we found was what my 14 year old daughter; who for reference is a city kid that takes the LA subways to Hollywood for school, described as Utopia. The property features an area for enjoying the beer, food (food trucks) and fresh picked (by you our your hosts) fruit and potentially live music, that in the eyes of us city folk was exactly what you would expect a farm to be. They have an outdoor area surrounded by working fields where people enjoyed the afternoon at the available tables or picnic style with blankets and chairs. I won't go as far as utopian, but will definitely describe as idyllic. Not only was the space worth the trip but the beers were as well. They offeredstyles for all palates as well as wine and cider. We enjoyed the whit beers and the barrel aged black dog stout, (we actually brought a couple bottles home). Plus unlike so many microbreweries they offer a large selection of brews to take home. So, if you live in the area or are visiting from afar and want a taste of the country and great beer, make the trip.“
“My favorite brewery in Spokane. They have the most beautiful hazy that reminds me of sunshine in a glass. My daughter loves going there and drawing on their chalk wall. They all remember her by name and what I like to drink. Such a great place to go“
