Had fish always good and oysters which seemed like to me to have soft uncooked bater I took back a couple of them they cooked longer which didn't make a diff. Not much flavor still seemed soft in edges? I have always gotten good oysters at Ivars. Got there at opening.
Ivars chowder is perfection. It's super easy to consume while on the go. The shrimp cocktail is fresh and tasty and filling.
I've recently also discovered the butter pecan cheesecake. Oh my!!! It's is a wonderfully surprising find that I will not forget is an ever present opportunity.

Absolutely DELICIOUS. I'm not one to order fish so when I had a craving and needed the spot to hit, this place was right on target!
We ordered the 3 piece Alaska Cod fish and chips, the Cajun sandwich, and cornbread. For dessert we had a caramel apple cheesecake and a butter pecan cheesecake. It took about 10 minutes to wait (we went during the lunch rush) but our food came out hot & stayed hot throughout eating. It wasn't greasy like how some fried fish...
