Lux is such a great coffee shop on McKinley and has great welcoming and neighborly vibes. Their coffee is amazing as well as their pastries. The owner is so nice and chill and I love all the baristas. Also the sweet doggo is my favorite part of visiting!
TLDR: My love of this place has grown after a rocky start, and I choose to come here first now instead of go check the other place then walk here. Good flavor and variety, lots of space, advocacy in the form of papers and other peoples art... like a little co-op.

When I first moved to the neighborhood last October 2024, I was so excited to try the coffee shop that was a 4 minute walk from my home. I walked in the door and was greeted by the awesome nerdy/retro/queer/psychedelic...
I got a cold brew coffee with some hazelnut and cream and it was delicious. This atmosphere is a big plus. I had a late start so pickings for a pastry or breakfast sandwich were slim. I will definitely come back and try something though.
