“We accidentally found these phenomenal waffles on our way to a softball tournament in Centralia. So phenomenal in fact that we drove out of our way 3 days in a row to come back for breakfast. We tried the Bourbon Maple w/ Bacon, the Dalmatian, The Local GOAT, Jalapeno Business and Banana's foster, all exceeded our expectations. Definitely give Abe's a try, you won't be sorry!“

But, they teased me about making up my own drink order. I wanted a black forest mocha. They said they didn't know what that was. I guess chocolate and cherry flavor that has been associated with that title has somehow traveled across the globe from Germany, but managed to elude contact with Tumwater, WA.

Anyway, they make good coffee, but don't know common (IMO) drinks and don't have any prices posted. I give them a 3 ?“

Menu lists 16 oz drinks for X price. Asked barista if 16 oz drink comes with 2 shots. Barista said 2 shots.

Got bill and it was around $1.50-$2.00 more than I expected.

Charged for extra shot.

Also charged for card use (under $10).

That’s fine, but it would be nice to have that clarity from the beginning. Here’s a suggestion to how the conversation could go:

Customer: “hi, does the 16 oz mocha come with 2 shots?”

Barista: “it comes with 1 shot, but I can add another shot for X (price)”

Customer: “okay, I’ll stick with 1 shot, thank you”

Barista: “that’ll be X total, cash or card?”

Customer: “card, please”

Barista: “great. Do note that for totals under $10 we charge a 40 cent processing fee”

Customer: “cool, thanks for the info!”

Again, coffee was good. And this extra information might even be on the menu (unsure, hard to see when it’s on a sign that’s behind where someone pulls up). This is a brief suggestion for how the whole customer experience is. And those little tidbits of info are super helpful, at least speaking for my experience.“

“We just started coming here a couple weeks ago and thoroughly enjoy their patio and the fact that they have a pet area. The servers are super attentive and circle every 5 (if they're busy it might be 10 minutes). Their food is very reasonable in a world of overpriced food and mediocre service. Their menu is pretty limited but their daily specials are very reasonable.“

After ordering the wait for food was long but we were in no hurry. It would have been nice to have something to nibble on. We hadn’t expected the wait so we didn’t order bread or salad, everything is extra. The place could use something acoustic to cut the noise a notch, simply voices overwhelm the place. Music from the venue next door wasn’t a distraction, it was fine. Parking can be difficult. All in all, we will be back for the A+ parts make it way worth the visit.“

“This was a great find as suggested by a YouTuber who was doing a tour of downtown. The place has a really funky and fun vibe, it's family-owned, the service was excellent, they have a very extensive menu, and a completely separate one for vegans and vegetarians! And the portion sizes are huge and very well priced. I would definitely recommend enjoying a meal here when in town!“

“This tavern is a gem. The food is cooked with care and you can tell when you get it. The brussel sprouts are a huge hit at any time. I tried a "special" called the CodFather yesterday with a hand battered piece of cod, topped with fresh sliced pastrami and some cheese on a slathering of coleslaw on a bun. It absolutely works!“

“I normally don’t do reviews but i need to today. I come to this stand a lot and I’m always greeted well. Everyone is always so amazing. I went in yesterday because I’ve been having a rough couple of days and decided I wanted a treat. The guy taking my order asks me how I was doing and I responded how I was having a rough time. He was incredibly kind. Normally I don’t really talk like that but yesterday I decided to be honest. I go to pay and he tells me he is covering it. I truly hope this doesn’t get him in trouble but I cried on my way home. Last week for me as been really challenging mentally and it’s been a lot. A simple act of kindness. It meant everything. I never got his name but if the staff reads these. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. “I just ate the best pizza, even though I broke my carb diet on this 2nd day of January. I give exactly 0 f**ks bcz it was THAT good. Omg. The crust is the most important component, imo, and it was just so fresh and chewy, yet tossed thin and baked to be crusty. I’m a mushroom fan but my partner isn’t, so I got a small with the house red sauce, cheese and double shrooms. Heavenly. They also sautee the mushrooms in what tastes like butter and garlic before adding them to the pie. Not just sliced, uncooked slabs of mushroom. Thank you for starting off my year with this quality pie!! And the service was stellar, too!“

“The owner is the most beautiful woman on the planet. I have no idea why she is in Downtown Olympia because she belongs in Heaven. The ice cream, delicious, the aesthetic; brilliant. You are a complete idiot if you do not try Juju's ice cream and then go down the road to Cascadia to delight yourself with their legendary brown sugar pie. Baskin Robbins is legitimate garbage in comparison. Don't be stupid.

“Ate here on a whim with some friends while exploring downtown Olympia and I have to say their food was great! Ordered a 16 inch pepperoni pizza which was made on a thin crust; it had the perfect amount of everything and the crust had really good flavor to it. We also ordered some buffalo wings. I always mentally prepare myself for how spicy buffalo wings might be, but this was perfect in heat. It has just the right kick to it and it went well with their ranch sauce (possibly made in house). Definitely would love to return and try their other menu options along with some of their drinks!

Parking: If street parking isn't available, you can always just park at Percival Landing and walk over.

Kid-friendliness: Not meant for children, everyones IDs get checked.
