Elbow Room has such a cool, electric atmosphere, one of those places where the vibe is just right from the moment you walk in. Easily one of the best bars in the Vancouver, Portland area. The whole crew is spectacular, but special shoutout to Mike, an Expatriate alum who has helped curate such a dynamite experience (the vinyl records!!) and bar menu. The cocktails, the energy, the people behind the bar: all absolutely fab. Highly recommend.
This place screams Portland vibes but is Vancouvers own little retro upscale dive bar paradise. The bartender was friendly and shares a passion for searching for the best cocktail bars in the Portland/Vancouver area. We shared our love, and sadness, of the Expatriate, a beloved bar that recently closed on Portlands east side. You couldn't find a better place for great drinks, amazing food and top notch service...not to mention the dark and moody ambience was everything you...
Loved the vibe. The atmosphere is the perfect mix of retro lounge and neighborhood bar, with genuinely great cocktails that feel elevated without being pretentious. The bartenders were friendly, the drinks were creative, and the whole place had a cool laid-back energy that makes you want to stay awhile. Definitely one of the more unique spots in Vancouver.
