Just found V&J's Northside Cafe in Baldwin Wisconsin and stopped in for lunch with my wife.Great food and desserts. I had the grilled cheese and ham sandwich. They used actual ham slices and not some shaved junk. The Banana Cream pie was equally impressive as well as my wife's food. All desserts are made from scratch by Val (the V in the V&J's). Just had an amazing lunch here today. My husband and I always try to find a nice hometown restaurant when we go through a smaller town. Made it in time to still get lunch. Val was great, made us feel at home. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with crinkle fries. Sounds simple enough but you'd be surprised how many bad ones I've had. The bread was perfectly browned, not burnt and the fries were piping hot. Our food was everything we hoped it would be, we'll be back.

I absolutely love this place! It's small place, but everyone is friendly, the food is good! Val is awesome! I'm in there quite a bit and my family also has become regulars! I highly recommend!
