“We visited Ringling Brew House for an early fish fry and had a bit of a mixed experience. The food itself was good—the fish was well-prepared and flavorful. However, our sides were incorrect, and we didn’t receive the rolls that were listed on the menu, which was a little disappointing. The beer was enjoyable, but the menu was out of date per the server. We were told several options we were interested in weren’t available, and it felt like a guessing game with the server, who could neither tell us anything about the beer, or when told a name of the beer of the menu seem to be able to find it on his list. Service was the main challenge. Our waiter appeared overwhelmed and unfamiliar with the menu and overall operations, which made things feel disorganized. While we were there, it also seemed that a cook quit rather dramatically, which may explain some of the confusion. What stood out most is that the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and clearly has a lot of potential. It wasn’t busy during our visit—only a couple of other tables—so the issues weren’t due to being overwhelmed with customers. Overall, I’d be willing to give it another try because the setting and food show promise, but unfortunately this visit felt like we caught them on an off night.“
