“Recommend going down the road to The Cove!! I would NEVER return! Love a small town bar but when you sit down and wait for a drink then other “regular” come in and you aren’t acknowledged… pretty rude. Would not recommend if you aren’t from there.“

“If you are passing by or a local stop in. We have recently discovered this place (after many recommendations) The quintessential Wisconsin road-side bar. The waitress (damn I can’t remember her name) is so friendly. The food is great, the best pizza around. Had a prime rib Saturday, it was perfect to my specifications. The feel is def north woods. Very homey and comfortable. We went there 3! times in 10 days. Have yet to sit at the bar but will soon. 5 ⭐️“

“Walked in today place was packed, waited to get a lane for 5 people and was only 20 mins. Had friendly service and tried a pizza, was the best pizza I have had in a long time! I thought it’s a bowling alley pizza but no it is probably one of the best pizzas in the area! Very impressed. Heard a few customers compliment the kitchen on the burgers too. Next time we will try one of those. Staff was great and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Haven’t been there in years and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a great day of bowling with family and friends!“

“Breakfast was AMAZING!! Stopped on our way through based off of reviews and so glad we trusted them! My husband had The Hangover Skillet which was really good and my omelet was delicious. “I dined here for the first time last year and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately my memory failed me and the restaurant fell off my radar. Thankfully I thought about it again last night as I was meeting a couple friends for dinner. Once again we enjoyed a peaceful dinner on the deck at the bar height table offering a beautiful view of Jordan Lake. My sandwich was delicious and timely. The bartender, who was also the waitress, was very friendly and checked on us several times. I can't wait to introduce this place to others!“

“The local bar where everybody knows your name. The food will blow your mind. Big portions and great price. You wouldn't believe it came from a little Ole bar like this. Also has music and car shows during summer. Bartenders are friendly and i never went thirsty. Will visit again for sure.“

“We had the Friday fish fry - I had the perch and a baked potato and my husband had the cod with fries. It was all delicious! The fries were hand cut and so good. The fish was perfect. We were impressed with the service and speed. We'll be back!“

“A surprisingly friendly local watering hole. Things have been going pretty rough for me lately. I was in Portage on sorta a whim, placing myself in the care of close friends and family to help deal with a few things. I ended up going bar hopping with my best friend and a bud from high school that I haven't seen for awhile. We're about as different, the three of us, as people can be in terms of personality and I think it's fair to say we all had a pretty decent time. Drink options are pretty standard. Nothing to write home about there. I was a bit hesitant to stop in here at first because the crowd seemed a bit on the older side. Some folks closer to our age filtered in as we drank our drinks. The crowd was pretty friendly and struck up some great conversation about football and folks we all knew from around town. (Full disclosure: We found out halfway through our drink that the bartender was the mother of someone we went to high school with and we ended up sharing a lot of laughs relating to that. He wasn't a close friend or anything, but it's worth mentioning.)“

“We ordered the pub and grub, ham cheddar, chili cheese fries? I can’t complain that much it was just ok. The only thing I will complain about is the burger being over cooked. The chili cheese fries hands down was the best and I will be back for that and to try something different. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.“

“My husband and I were told this bar was a great place to have dinner and drinks. I will say we were not disappointed. Bar staff was very friendly, we never had to wait for a drink and the bar was well occupied. Food was good. I ordered a bacon blue cheese burger, yum! Bun was nice and soft but toasted on the inside. We ordered homemade potato chips one order spicy one one order parmesan. They were a little salty, between the two of them I preferred the Parmesan. Overall a great experience. Rip the bartenders well they are great!“

“We went here on the recommendation of an old friend as we passed through the area. It's a small local dive that was nice to stop in for some lunch. We had a generous amount of fries and onion rings with our BLT and grilled cheese sandwiches. All of it hit the spot and was washed down with some refreshing adult beverages. The atmosphere was chill and the bartender friendly. The cook made all the food nice and hot! We'd stop again when we're in the area!“
