The fish at Halvorson's is fantastic. I move their brown sugar smoke trout and the little tubs of whitefish bites. I always buy 2 because the first one is nibbled on the trip home.

Halvorson Fisheries is a fresh and smoked fish shop, often described as wonderful and worth the stop. It is a favorite for many, especially those camping at Little Sand Bay or visiting Bayfield, and is considered the best smoked fish in the area. The fish, including smoked whitefish, fresh whitefish fillets, and trout, is delicious, lightly smoked, not dry, and fresh from Lake Superior. They offer smoked, fresh, frozen, and pickled fish, as well as specialty items like trout cheeks, frozen whitefish livers, and a superb whitefish spread. Customers can see the fish being processed. The staff is lovely and very helpful. The shop has a nearby incredible beach for strolling. It is recommended to bring a cooler and ice. On Corny Day, they sell fried whitefish.
