“Stop #6 of My 2025 Lenten Lunch Fish Fry Tour: Joe’s K Ranch – A Must-Visit Fish Fry Gem!** Located at 4840 S Whitnall Ave, Cudahy, WI 53110 If you're on the hunt for the ultimate Friday Fish Fry experience, Joe’s K Ranch in Cudahy is calling your name—and trust me, you *want* to answer. This spot has quickly soared to the top of my list in 2025, delivering a meal that hits every note: flavor, freshness, and friendly hometown vibes. **Here’s a peek at their fish fry lineup:** - 🥣 **House-made Clam Chowder** – Creamy, hearty, and packed with flavor. $4.58 (cup), $6.58 (bowl), $14.58 (quart) - 🐟 **2-Piece Beer-Battered Cod** – $14.58 (add an extra piece for $4.58) - 🔥 **3-Piece Broiled Cod** – $16.58 - 🐠 **8 oz Walleye** – Battered or pan-fried to golden perfection – $16.58 - 🎩 **Cod Oscar** – A fancier twist on the classic – $18.58 - 🍤 **Grilled Cajun Shrimp** – Zesty, juicy, and a little bit bold – $20.58 Every entrée comes with all the fixings: a warm bread basket, creamy coleslaw, and your choice of fries, baked potato, or—my personal favorite—crispy, golden potato pancakes served with applesauce. Want to elevate your plate? Add sautéed green beans or asparagus for just $2.58. I went with the classic: the 2-piece beer-battered cod. And wow—this is *how* fish fry should be done. The batter was light yet crispy, perfectly clinging to moist, flaky cod. The potato pancakes? A work of art. Crispy edges, soft centers, and just the right balance of savory and sweet with the applesauce. The coleslaw was fresh and flavorful, and the fries were piping hot with a satisfying crunch. The clam chowder deserves a shoutout of its own—rich, creamy, and loaded with tender clams. A must-order. And the service? Outstanding. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Big shoutout to Chris K and the kitchen crew for serving up what might just be the *best* fish fry of the year so far. Joe’s K Ranch isn’t just a stop on the Fish Fry Tour—it’s a *destination*. Add it to your Wisconsin Fish Fry Bucket List immediately. Whether you're a seasoned fish fry connoisseur or just love a great meal, this one delivers big flavor and even bigger heart.“

“Came upon this little gem when looking for a place to have some drinks before a show and so glad we did! This place is so cute, it’s small but it’s very nice inside and has that nice feel of comfort. When we got there it was slow but it quickly got busy and the bartender, Christina, was the only one there besides the cooks and she ROCKED it. She remained collective and calm during the rush that came out of nowhere. The food is also amazing, while we only had a couple of apps, the burgers looked insanely delicious and we are definitely going back to try them.“

“Fun place, kind people,great drinks.“
“This bar reminds me of home, and the experience here is very unique. That is, the bar accommodates for the fire house next door. It's a community - where firefighters chill outside and casually converse with the bar crowds. Music plays loud enough on the patio that the entire street corner can be entertained, and there is always an open invitation to be a part of it all! One of the best experiences at this bar is when the fire truck departs for another alarm, the entire community is there to support and cheer the firefighters aboard. It's quite the event! Hosed On Brady is a blue collar joint with a massive stake in the community. That is, the bar is always a part of any community event or festivals, the bar offers meat raffles, and the bar supports the community. The staff is great and has one of the best bartenders [Ruby] on Brady Street! I definitely got hosed on Brady!“

“The Stone might be the friendliest bar in Milwaukee. Before I settled my butt into a seat at the bar, someone welcomed me with a hello and a welcome. Soon, more of the customers ambled up to me to talk about a myriad of subjects. This was an eclectic crowd, and obviously, all were welcome. These days, I'm invariably the oldest cat in the joint, but no one at the Stone seemed to notice. Neither did my dark glasses or fedora cause people at The Stone to keep their distance. That was very cool because how I dress is often construed as pretentious in the down-to-earth confines of Milwaukee. However, the regulars at The Stone let my personality and discourse speak rather than my appearance. That meant a lot to me. I left The Stone knowing I always had a welcoming tavern to go to. What a wonderful feeling. The Stone is a special place. BTW, the drinks were fine, and the prices were good.“

“Hands down one of the best establishments in the greater Milwaukee area! The food is amazing and CHEAP, as are the drinks. The bartender is a woman of the highest class, and the patrons open and friendly. It's like a blast from the past, few places of this caliber exist anywhere in the United States. It's up to us to give it the business to keep it here!“

“Slim & Christian were great bartenders... PROFESSIONALS! Slim gave us a shot of Killepitsch... A liqueur that is better than Jagermeister. The pretzel was insane! The beer was beyond amazing. If you come to Milwaukee, come here and be ready to drink some amazing beer!“

“I had a catfish sandwich the other day and… The bread was toasted just right with butter on both sides. The onions, lettuce and tomato was perfectly crispy. And the fish was fried to perfection with a tasteful crust. I opened it up and gave it perfect sprinkles of hot sauce to top it off. First to last bite was heaven on earth.“

“My husband is a huge soccer fan so we decided to do the rehearsal dinner for our wedding this summer at the Red Lion out on the back patio. It was the most perfect venue and meal! Our friends and family raved about the food and planning everything (including drink tickets, menu, and dealing with a year long postponement during a pandemic) was easy with their event coordinator. We were able to play games on the deck and mingle and had plenty of room when a few extra unexpected guests arrived. Would recommend for any event!“

“Great prices, perfect bar menu, great staff, but what really makes this bar great is the owner's passion for the legacy and history of the bar. The items on display are one of a kind, and knowledge the bar owners have about this establishment and the items on display is rare these days. Their love for this bar spills over into the "personality" of this place. Stop in, get a drink, a bite to eat, look around, ask questions...you'll leave with a truly memorable experience!“

“Exciting First Fish Fry Experience of Lent 2025!
Today, I finally had the chance to step into Jerseys Pub and Grill for my first official Fish Fry Lunch of Lent 2025! It's located at 4024 S Howell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207, and let me tell you – I’ve passed by this place countless times, but today, I finally got to experience it! What a hidden gem it turned out to be!
It all started when I met the owner, who just so happens to have a son at the same elementary school as my own. That’s when I discovered their Friday Fish Fry – a perfect addition to my Fish Fry Bucket List.
Now, let's dive into the mouthwatering menu options they offer on Fridays:
* Cod Fish Fry: Freshly cut lemon wedge, slaw, rye bread, and your choice of fries, potato wedges, or tater tots, all for $13.
* Fish Sandwich: Served with your choice of potato for $10.
* Shrimp Tacos: A flavorful delight for $9.50.
* Fish Tacos: Tasty and satisfying for $9.50.
* Shrimp Basket: Perfect for seafood lovers at $11.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner’s warm and friendly demeanor – she made me feel right at home. Her impeccable service really set the tone for the whole experience.
As for the food – WOW! I was served three generously-sized pieces of cod, perfectly battered with just the right amount of crispiness, yet not oily at all (huge win!). I went with the potato wedges, and they were on point – golden brown, crispy on the outside, and warm & fluffy on the inside. The slaw wasn’t the creamy type I usually prefer, but it had a delightful, crisp flavor that paired perfectly with everything else.
All in all, this was a fantastic Fish Fry Lunch that I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the area and craving something new! Another Milwaukee gem to add to your list.“

“I adore corner bars, this one ranks high. We were in for one quick drink, but I could have sat there for hours. The bartender was very engaging, and she felt like an old friend, not a barkeep in a new place. I will go back, and hope she'll be working again.“
“This place is a nice little bar with a litte of everything. Good prices, darts, billiards, a few large televisions for sports and they are open on Thanksgiving. If you are in the area, it is worth dropping in. They also have TouchTunes if you are familiar with the app, so you can pick the music that is played while you are there. There is limited parking, but there is street parking nearby as well.“

“Had some time on my hands and was driving by and noticed that the bar was open and decided to stop in for a quick beer and to use the facilities . Swift Kick is a fairly small and simple corner establishment with a one of those neat horse shoe shaped bars with the back bar in the center , you can see pretty much everyone that is there and I thought that was nice . The woman behind the bar was very nice and was eager to ask how she could be of service . The afternoon that I stopped seemed to have an older clientele and they were all friendly . It's clean and I would certainly stop in again if in the area . Parking is all on the street . If ya like quaint little spots , stop by and check out theSwift Kick Pub .“
