“Was in the area from out of town and this place is exactly what I was looking. The staff was very friendly and the food was fantastic. If you are looking for a traditional Wisconsin fish fry, you have to try this place. The beer battered cod was amazing! I wish I had a place like this where I live and will definitely be back next time I am in the area“

“Great local bar. First time here on a Wednesday evening. Low key upon arrival. Very clean and a lot of bar space. It was bingo night and it quickly became packed around 6pm. Locals were all friendly.
No tap beer, which is fine because the bottled beer was cold.
Feels like off the beaten path, yet 10 min from Madison east/south side.
Highly recommend and I'll stop again.“

“Small venue but great band line ups for pop rock music and country(my least favorite genre) so there’s something for everyone. I go here when the theme is old school 80’s and 90’s music. There’s a bar and dance floor by the stage. Entrance fees are reasonable. Looking forward to stopping in again next month!“

“I want to start this review saying that I sure hope the manager that's Not Steven doesn't treat the employees like he treated us. We were headed to our hotel when other hockey team members called and said they were headed to Nitty-gritty to eat. We had seen the ads at the hockey rink and turned around and were the first ones there. I walked in and Not Steven asked how many. I explained I thought about 20-25 from our team were coming. He told us that he could not accommodate all of us in one area, that he had several teams coming in that had set reservations. He told us we should have made reservations months ago and made us feel like a complete inconvenience. I had never been to Sun Prairie and wouldn't have any idea of that. We waited for our friends and eventually Steven moved us together, after Not Steven seemed to go out of his way to spread us across the whole building. I'm so glad that we did not just leave due to the way we were treated by Not Steven. Our server was Joe I believe. He was attentive and polite and did a wonderful job. Honestly all the other staff seemed happy to be there and seemed to enjoy working there. The food was fast, tasted wonderful, and was very well put together. We ordered a few different things. The nachos had great ground meat that wasn't greasy gross. The flatbread was well made. Everything else was great also. The price for the plate size was good also. It's a shame that my first and lasting impression is of how inconvenient we were to Not Steven. I do want to note that, while we were there, I never saw any part of any of the other teams there. There did seem to be a small gathering of adults at one time but no other teams. I truly hope the manager doesn't treat his amazing team the way he treated new customers. Also, Steven was wonderful and was very welcoming.“

“A great meal with my basketball team. The prices were very good and the food came out quite fast and were relatively great for the price. The manger though (I’m sad I didn’t get her name) was phenomenal. She made the experience so great. Took care of us and did everything she could to make the service impressive!“
