I time my travel to be hungry, and go out of my way to stop at The Wooden Nickel. Great old time bar and grill, like the ones I remember from my childhood. My go to is the bacon cheeseburger with the slaw. Large, tasty burger. I always sit on the far side of the bar so I can watch the trains and the barges go by. Great place!
What a great place! We stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed. As soon as I mentioned to Ariana and Amanda that I have never had cheese curds, they made some for me, which were awesome! The place is very friendly, and we felt right at home. Great food and service, at a a very reasonable price. Stop in. You'll thank me later!

My husband was shooting on pool league as a sub we did not eat here. However we have in the past and food has been delicious as always. Great stop to get a drink and meal. I still wish that some of the activities would return. Trivia night, music and dancing we really miss that and others I have talked toothers feel the same.
