The food was just "good ". We did come in late, all you can eat perch. The breading was great, light and crispy. But I experienced a fishy taste (I know...it is fish after all). My husband wished for more onions in his baked onion soup, but it was good. Bruschetta was great. Potatoes great. Spinach salad with hot bacon

It was my birthday and Robin was our server. She was absolutely wonderful, as was the food.I love the old supper club feel of this place as well. The only thing that was not pleasant was the bernaise sauce. It was clumpy, cold and separating. It should have been taken off the menu until the “chef” learns to properly make a sauce.

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! The spinach salad with warm bacon dressing was phenomenal, the beef Wellington was cooked to perfection, and the twice-baked potatoes were absolutely amazing. The service was top-notch, making us feel truly welcomed. My boyfriend loved the flavorful chicken wings and veggie Alfredo. Overall, a fantastic meal with exceptional service. Can't wait to go back! ??️✨

We came for a pre-valentine’s dinner. The food was from the 1979’s with today’s prices. Not good. Over priced. Really it was terrible!

Food was really flavorless. Not overly warm, some would say the food was cold. They were not very busy when we arrived. Ordered the porterhouse- blah.

If I could give this a 0 I would. The owner was a total jerk. Made reservations and still had to wait 1.5 hours. By the time we sat down food we had ordered wasn't available. Told the owner we were leaving and he said we had to pay for what we ordered even if we didn't eat it. No such rule in Wisconsin. Stay away from this establishment. It is the worst.

New Years Eve dinner, promptly seated and served. The Beef Wellington was the best I've ever had. Husband had Halibut...also delicious, very rich. We love this restaurant, it treats you well.

Long wait times even with reservations (hours).Good wait staff. Attentive, friendly, always earned a higher than usual tip. Most problems seem to reside with management and kitchen staff from what I've read and experienced.Food quality is different from visit to visit and isn't consistent. Was served a Ju for the prime rib that had obviously gone off and it left the kitchen anyway. Next visit it was fine but the prime rib itself was over done and dry.A resteraunt rescue show would do well here. It's close to being what it wants to be (an upscale supper club) but the inconsistencies and poor decisions, both in the kitchen and front of house hold it back and sour the experience.Feels like the only thing keeping the place afloat is the high volume of one time vacationing patrons who in all likelihood will not return in the near future regardless of experience. Conclusion: Would like to recommend but cannot in its current state. Seems like you have to get lucky and be there just on the right day to get the proper experience.Shame.

We were on vacation and excited to try The English Inn for Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, our excitement didn't last long once we got there. Here are the bullet points of our experience:*Upon entering, were me met with an off putting smell, coming from the bathrooms. It didn't go away.*It took 2 1/2 hours to get all our food. When we asked our server if he knew when our food would be coming out, he told us that he had a lot of tables and he was doing the best that he can.*The cheese curd appetizer was over fried. Most of the cheese had oozed out the breading.*The salads and bread were amazing and definitely the best part of the night. The fettuccine alfredo was good, too.*The steaks and baked potatoes were barely lukewarm and not seasoned well. The fish entre was soggy and tasteless. Our server never came to check on if the food was to our liking.*After waiting a very long time, our server finally came over and asked if we wanted take home boxes. When I asked him if he wanted to know how our food tasted, he started laughing and walked away. He never came back.*We had to bring our bill to bar to get somebody to help us pay, so we could finally leave. We heard other customers complaining, tooWe will never go back!

Unfortunately, I had the worst dining experience here this last holiday. The service was beyond slow, food was truly terrible except for the salad and bread, and the waiter we had was a toddler who threw a fit when asked a question about the food. Please do not waste your time and high amount of money to eat here. There are many great options in the area and I wish we would have listened to the other reviews.

Christmas dinner at the English Inn was very disappointing this year. Both husband and I ordered ribeye steaks and both were flavorless. My baked potato tasted as if it had been in a warmer all day (brown on inside) and his au gratin was pretty greasy. Best part of meal was bottle of wine. We also waited about 30 minutes after we finish our salad for the steaks after being told multiple times by server that our dinners would be right up. Doubt we would be eating there again on any future visit. For the cost of the meal it was completely unacceptable.

First of all, this place got very busy after we arrived. But we were able to get seated right away (timing is everything). The menu explains right away that you should allow yourself one and a half hours for dining. They do not rush you! Fantastic! My husband had the clam chowder (too lemony) and the broiled white fish which he said was only okay. I had the cherry spinach salad with hot cherry bacon dressing which was delicious. I also had the seafood casserole which was fabulous. Made me want to try and figure out how to make it at home. We did finish off our meal with a root beer ice cream drink. It was okay.It was pricey but enjoyable enough.
