“What a fantastic hideaway! Gave the owners a ride back from the draft in GreenBay and they welcomed me in and I tried some of their food. I had a Baccon Cheeseburger and jalapeño poppers. The burger was cooked to perfection almost smashburger like. Now I'm a big fan of jalapeño poppers and good poppers are hard to find. Well I assure you they found them. They were perfect! Not steaming hot on the inside where you end up burning the roof of your mouth. They tasted so good! Will definitely be returning.”

“Von Stiehl is hands-down the best winery in Door County—technically Kewaunee County, but they outshine them all. Their wines are consistently exceptional, with a balance and character that rival anything I’ve tasted across the country. I was heartbroken to hear their Frambois was discontinued—it was truly one of my all-time favorites—but every bottle I’ve tried from them has been outstanding.

I’ve visited wineries from California to the East Coast, and I’d still rank Von Stiehl easily in my top ten nationwide. The quality, care, and craftsmanship are unmistakable, and the sense of history behind every bottle makes the experience even richer. Wisconsin should be proud to have a winery of this caliber—Von Stiehl is a true gem.

“This place is everything you’d expect for an Irish bar. They nail it on every level. Tons of authentic Irish themed decor. Epic bloody Mary’s in a goblet. All the food items you could want and more. Been stopping here for 15 years and they’ve never let me down. Over the years they’re outside expansion has become quite epic. They even have heated outside seating for the colder season.”

“THE BEST COFFEE of my life!!! At the first sip of their Columbian Medium roast (with just a touch of cream and sugar), I froze in my tracks. Time stopped. I was overcome by the astonishingly satisfying flavor and balance. I forgot about all of my problems, for just a moment, and sunk into that perfection of their roast. It's rare for me to find that perfect balance of flavorful and bold without being overly acidic or bitter, while also not being watery or too weak, and THIS was it.

After that first sip, I had to tell someone, so I told Robert who was working behind the counter, just how much I loved this coffee. Robert was, from the start, so incredibly friendly and helpful, and a real pleasure to talk to. Robert warmly thanked me and said he'd pass my compliment to the owner.

For the next hour, I sat in the small, but very comfortable seating area, and began what I came for: To get on WIFI and work on my laptop and try to get something meaningful done. Not only did I get it done, I basically redesigned my worklife. I attribute my success in this (which I'd wanted to do for months) to the positive energy of that Columbian medium roast, the friendiness of Robert, and the warmth and optimism of the guests and staff that came in.

As if this wasn't already an amazing morning, Robert also introduced me to the owner, Sean, who told me a little about his roasting process (this has been his passion for 20 years!) One by one, really friendly people and staff came through the doors, and Robert introduced me to basically everyone that would be good for me to know in the local arts and music community, of which I am a new member.

I left Pinky Promise and went on to have probably the most productive and satisfying day I can recall in probably the past 5 years.
