“Always an amazing dining experience. The menu is so varied it is always difficult to choose. Delicious food and always a wonderful presentation. The Nuns are so delightful and helpful. Well worth the two hour drive to get there from Dubuque. A truly unique place. I’m a never leave without purchasing some of their fantastic breads. Absolutely love this place.”

“Truly a place to visit. We went every year for at least the last 5 hrs but, I think I'm good. Bloody Mary's were not as good this year. Food was OK. The service wasn't as good. The barkeep seemed to act like we were more of an inconvenience that a customer. Maybe your experience will be like our used to be. I hope so.”

“Desperados has a great Friday night fish fry! The blue gill is amazing and the hash browns with cheese and onions are delicious. The soup and salad bar is a meal on its own. They always offer 3 soups and a salad bar that has cheese, eggs, tomatoes, olives, peas, onions (to name a few toppings) plus coleslaw, broccoli salad, potato salad, fruit and pudding. S/S bar also includes buns, crackers, cheese spread and a variety of dressings. We look forward to Friday night fish fry’s here-you are greeted with a smile and the service is fast and friendly! “We stopped in from a 700 mile motorcycle ride from sturgis back to Tennessee, the staff is amazing., the owner is equally amazing and is one heluva cook . I got the wagu steak and it was delicious! 10/10 stars and highly recommend making this place a destination.”
