“Get the wings! Best sauce I've ever had. The burger with pepper jack was delicious, too. Great flavor. Atmosphere is what you'd expect from your small neighborhood bar. We've also had their pizza for take out and it's excellent ?”
“Definitely an overlooked, hidden gem right on the river.Stopped in for a few drinks here one night during the week(Tues) with a few out of town guests, nice & mellow atmosphere...beautiful outdoor seating area...service was great...only complaints were it closed very early(11pm) and there was no music playing outside...I understand some like the quiet peaceful ambience of the river but wouldve been nice to have the option...I guess it's just a mood thing and just a personal preference. Other than that no real complaints, prices were best we found that whole evening and we had been to several bars, drinks were cold, service was very friendly and the outdoor option was comfy, clean and pretty damn fabulous, right on the river too! Would definitely recommend checking them out for at least a drink or three if in the area.Enjoy this lil hidden gem. ?”
“I've been a long time patron of the Bluff's. Last week we had my daughters wedding and reception there. Danielle Anway went above an beyond what was expected. Everything and everyone was ready on time. Eddies White Glove limo service was a mess. The wedding party's schedule was pushed up because of another booking (I'm told) and our wedding party couldn't get to the locations for photos that had been agreed on. Dannie and another employee drove the party to Memorial Park and the Habor Bar for photos. Dannie made sure the brides dress was aligned for photos for each shot. She could of just waited in the car. At 8:45 when one of our guests wanted to go back to the Hotel, our limo driver hung up on us. It was agreed that he would pick up the one or two people that wanted to go back early, then make regular trips at 9, 10 and 11 pm. Dannie volunteered to give her a ride back! The broiled chicken breast was great, the bacon wrapped, stuffed pork chop was to die for! The bar tender kept everyone happy at the bar. Everything was fantastic! No Surprises! Obviously I would recommend birthdays, weddings and just regular old get togethers at the Bluffs to anyone. Hat's off to the employees of the Bluff's, you guys made a big difference in my daughter's (and our families) special day!”
“Come see the harbor live music events djs. There's always somthing new Going on at the harbor and if you stay real late all the fun adults are at the boat landing hanging at the bonfire, fishing anything lots of fun people who love meeting people. Don't worry if you are shy they will take care of that were all fun chatty friendly crazy group of people after 10 pm 25-50 years young party time honestly anyone over 25 is fine”
“Cute little coffee shop with a great atmosphere! It was the perfect pick me up as we were driving through Wisconsin. My mom, sister, and I all got iced mint mochas and loved them! It was just the thing for a hot summer day!”
“Justin you and your team just rocked it!Absolutely fantastic food! Great mix of smokey goodness combined with all the natural flavors of the meats, cheeses and veggies! Would highly recommend!!!Thank you for such a a wonderful food experience!!!!”
“Very cute candy store in downtown Red Wing! There is coffee. You can also order. They have a pretty large selection of chocolate and a small selection of other, not chocolate candies that you can purchase. Right next to the Red Wing store. So definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.”
“Yep, Mandy's on site and keeping things humming. Classic coffee house vibe, great beverage selection with nearby free parking and Hanisch Bakery across the street for more take-home goodies. Who could ask for anything more?Parking: Street parking is often full but the Studebaker lot half a block away makes the Public Library an additional good stop on your way home.”
“Our New Year's Eve reservation at Chef Shack was our first time at the restaurant, and not the last. Bay City is a humble blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of town, so it's easy to find the restaurant. Parking was abundant. Upon entering, we found a cozy but not claustrophobic or loud environment. After waiting a few minutes, we were seated at a table for two with a view of the nearby fireplace.Service was impeccable. Every course was spaced out with precision so that we never felt rushed. NYE was a special event, $125 per person for couples and larger groups. The meal included two glasses of wine, a white from the central California coast and a dry red from New Zealand (if I correctly recall). There were also cocktails available for additional cost. There were four main courses offered, the choice taken by our server just after we were seated: veggie curry, steak, venison, or seafood bouillabaisse. Lisa Carlson of Chef Shack and Chef Nettie Colon were partnered for this night. The first course was a chickpea puff that was like a seasoned cloud. My husband doesn't like chickpeas but even he loved this. The next course was an empanada made by Chef Nettie Colon. Wow. No doubt, the best empanada I've had in my life. The salad was next, and what is usually a mundane side was elevated to delicious artwork. The main courses were next; my husband had the steak, while I had the venison. Both meats were delicious, but I must say, I'm glad I chose the venison because it was something special. I believe it had a cherry reduction on it, and the fruity sweetness added so much to the meat. After that came the dessert. We were each given a house-made scoop of ice cream to enjoy along with four chocolate and vanilla tartlets and a single slice of Benedictine cake to share. Everything was extraordinary.Something I truly appreciate about the meal was the perfect amount of food. We didn't leave feeling sickeningly full, but were 100% satiated.Chef Shack is truly a treasure tucked away in rural Wisconsin. I look forward to visiting again when they reopen in spring!”
“Rockstar experience. Great Service, incredible food, awesome cocktails and a bevy of brews. This is a five star experience and you should eat here a minimum once a week. Tell your friends they are gonna want to know.”
“Scarlet Kitchen & Bar is located in the St. James Hotel in downtown Red Wing. There is some street parking, but as this was a sub-zero January night with snow on the ground, we drove into the attached parking garage. It is not a straightforward parking garage but labyrinthine, requiring low speeds and care; judging by the scrapes on the ceiling, more people should pay attention to their vehicle height, too! We found a spot and had a very short, cold walk to an elevator. Scarlet Kitchen is on the first floor. My husband arranged this dinner date for the two of us on my birthday. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, making a point of saying "happy birthday." Our server was Anna. She took great care of us the whole time. We ordered some drinks and the cheese curds to start. These curds were fantastic with a perfect hot squeak. The Sturdiwheat batter was delicious. The housemade cranberry dip was a nice change from what other restaurants serve with curds. My husband ordered the steak and fries. I snagged one of his fries--wow, was it good! Strip isn't my husband's favorite cut, but the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned for his preference. I ordered the salmon, which was served on pearl barley with vegetables. Everything was delicious--a meal that felt indulgent yet healthy at the same time.Because it was my birthday, the dessert was included for free. I had my choice of the chocolate cake, creme brulee, and hummingbird cake, and I went for the chocolate. While we were waiting for that, my husband requested a whisky listed in the menu, but he was soon informed that they were out.So, the cake. Let me tell you, as a passionate home baker, this thing was GOOD. I could tell it was made fresh in-house. The chocolate and cherries were vibrant. Great frosting. Sweet but not overkill. Seriously, people should go here just for cake.Just as I was reaching for my coat, our server Anna returned. The whisky had been found to be in stock after all, and she offered us a serving on the house. Wow. We sat and enjoyed that before braving the cold. This ended up being the perfect birthday dinner. Excellent food and outright stellar customer service. We'll happily dine at Scarlet again.”
“A friendly, hometown Cafe with charm and friendly staff. The staff works together to provide excellent service for the customers. They did run out of things when we were there, but there were plenty of other options.”
“Great food excellent service and we love the atmosphere. Wether your just looking to have a quick drink or looking to sit and have a meal hay creek is the perfect choice.”
“We always enjoy our ride in the county and ending up in Broz Bar in Ellsworth. We enjoy their burgers and the special they offer. Yesterday we were the for the Monday special, Spaghetti. It's a great value and also very good. We will be back there again and very soon.”
“Awesome food, awesome service, welcoming atmosphere, and awesome staff! The owner is fantastic, and friendly. I will be going back soon!!! 10/10. Really cute Outpost merchandise. My husband and I, both bought really cute flannels!!”
“You would this this place was just a bar but the food was beyond basic! The shrimp were huge in the scampi and I ordered a chicken sandwich. So good! Service was amazing and food was delicious!”
“Awesome little pub on Main St downtown. Food choices are surprisingly varied and the food was very good for a place that doesn't actually have a kitchen. Friendly Bartender and nice atmosphere.”
“My happy place! Been going here monthly for the past year and love it so much! The environment, tea and staff are so exceptional I look forward to returning every time!A must visit!”
“Crazy good pizza with the thinnest crust ever. Cheese all the way to the crust. Foldable, hangey slices but were cut as big squares.Young gal and guy working were very cordial with quick service. Will be stopping again every time we come home from Spring Creek MX Park. DON'T SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!”
“Stopped in for a drink ended up having two and played some pull tabs. bartenders were great. The drink I ordered was perfect and reasonably priced. I don't have anything to complain about. I would recommend this bar if you were in the area looking to have a drink. I don't know about the food cuz we didn't order any food.”
“Flaming red haired Batista was fabulous! Thank you! ???Lavender anything’s make my mouth and soul happy! Though my husbzind digs his campfire mocha always always!!!Parking: Great location plenty o parking! ?️ always available when ever I have went.”
“We stopped by for a bite to eat about 4pm. The place was easy to find and we found a seat immediately. The waitress/bartender got us menus and drinks quickly. We ordered the saracha curds and seasoned tots to start. The curds were delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Our main course was the deluxe bacon burger and the crispy chicken sandwich both with fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and had an ample amount of toppings. The crispy chicken sandwich was cooked a bit on the crispy side so it had a nice crunch. It was juicy and delicious. The tomato and lettuce finished the sandwich giving it that delicious flavor we all love. The fries were hot but a bit undercooked. The smaller fries were ok but the larger fries were a bit soggy. Another 30 seconds in the dryer would have been all they needed to be perfect.Overall we had a pleasant experience. The food was very good, the service was exceptional, the price was great for the quality of the food. I highly recommend you stop and see for yourself how good this place is.”
“Highly recommend this place for great meals. So far I have been there twice for the ham sandwich and prime rib sandwich and loved it. Friendly service and reasonable cost.”
“This place is a blast - Bingo night is a hoot! No strangers here - friendly and inviting, and the fried food is awesome - mini tacos and shrimp are my fav’s. Just moved to the area from AZ and our Tuesday’s are now booked indefinitely! Love the owner (Donny) and the kindness and humor he shows everyone, young, old, friend, or newcomer!!!”
“Great food made fast and fresh. Friendly staff. We visit here often and plan to continue. Try the house version of your favorite dish-it's not on the menu but it's usually pretty great! We especially love the teriyaki chicken skewers and the house lo mein. The beef and broccoli and cashew chicken are delicious. Sometimes we t order the mei fun, too.”
“The baristas are always personable and can translate what I say I want into an actual drink. Like when I say “I want blended caramel latte with an extra shot of espresso”Parking: The caribou is located in a grocery store so plenty of parking. Plus, there’s a drive through.”
“This is one of our favorite restaurants in town. You get warm chips, cold salsa, and super tasty black bean dip when you're seated at your table. I've had something different from the menu almost every time we've gone and haven't been disappointed yet. They have a selection of vegetarian dishes that are so tasty (especially the quesedilla), and their meat dishes are just as good. Service is always fast, and your food comes out hot and fresh. I'm looking forward to having their house-made cucumber margarita this summer (I highly recommend it).”
“I've been to two weddings at this venue and each has been similar. That's a good thing because the food was great, the service efficient, and the space is beautiful. The layout is functional with the bar in the back, seating in the main area, and the dance floor towards the front mantle. We even got a shuttle back to our hotel at the end of the night. The wedding party kept me up well past my bedtime, so that's 5 stars from me!”
“We ordered 2 steak burritos with 2 drinks, (Horchata and Jamaica). The burritos were well worth the cost, they were big and loaded. Very good! The drinks were also authentic Mexican drinks and also very good. Thank you so much for your friendliness and delicious food. We will definitely be back!!”
“we drive an hour to eat here. the burgers are the best tasting beef to the point i asked where they get there beef from and i actually drove 1.5 hrs ro purchase some. i dont know the bar tender/waiters name but he is there everytime we drive there but he is fantastic and always smiles and hussles to accomadate his customers.Kid-friendliness: bar tender is awesome”
