Good beer selection, classic dive bar atmosphere. We came for the burgers which were highly recommended. Unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed. They’re nothing special. The bar tender was nice, but she was the only one working and service was slow. They have a great tap list.
Small dive bar with limited seating. Somehow it all works out. Winslow is a local fan favorite bartender. He is amazing to watch while he works and dresses snappy, too. They have a grill here and serve amazing food. The people watching here is always entertaining. A must visit if you are visiting Madison.
Winslow and ruth are simply exceptional in their ability to provide the most consistent and high-touch custome services you could ever expect from a “dive bar”. The fact that they than can do this regardless of how many people are present is even more impressive. Long story short, the Caribou Tavern is an institution in Madison, and I dare anyone to say otherwise.
