This was my first trip to Madison and I wanted to stay somewhere that had a lot of history and charm. The Governor's Mansion did not let me down! Our room was beautiful and really took me back in time. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio chairs while we gazed out on the water. Definitely a wonderful experience!
The Governors Mansion Inn is a wonderful place to stay in Madison. The location is quiet and slightly removed from the hustle of campus but just close enough to be anywhere in Madison within 10 minutes. Bob, the innkeeper, beautifully restored the building and remains involved and attentive to guests needs. Great find, great location and good prices. Easy in and out with a simple code. Very quaint with a decent continental breakfast - usually scones, bagels, oatmeal, some fruit and good coffee. I have stayed a number of times now and it was great when my daughter lived in her sorority house and I was steps from her. I have only stayed in the first floor unit.
