Second experience in a row where the people I was with felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. Use to be in the Madison top list. No longer feels inclusive or friendly.

Excellent to have a good time. Good beer. They also have foosball and billiards, along with some other machines to waste time while having a delicious beer. Good music. Pleasant at all times

I am very disappointed with the way I was treated on Halloween night. After giving the server a $20 bill for two Captain and Cokes (totaling $11), I waited for my change. When I asked where it was, I was accused of pocketing $8, even though I received nothing back. I explained that I have a criminal justice degree and have no interest in taking $8, but she dismissed me, saying, “What does that have to do with this?”
She later claimed she had given me $8, which not only didn’t happen but also didn’t make sense as the correct change would have been $9. Her attitude was insulting, and I feel humiliated being accused of something so unfounded. While I eventually got the money back, I believe an apology is owed for how poorly this was handled.
If cameras are available, I encourage you to review the footage from that night. I don’t appreciate being treated as a thief, and I doubt anyone else would either.

Great spot for hanging out with friends and shooting pool. Three pool tables that are $1.50/game and the whole bar is cash only, but a great atmosphere and cheap drinks.
Just stopped in to kill a bit of time on a road trip. Was looking for a cool place in the heart of Madison. It was last call, so perfect timing lol...but the bartenders were amazing and the vibe was super chill. We had so much fun chatting waiting out the downpour... that I forgot it was my birthday as of midnight! So, thank you Sam, and the other bartender and folk. I'd been having a sh!rty day/night...this was a nice break from it all. 100% will stop in again.

It's The Crystal - a staple of the Eastside of Madison. I see some reviews have stated that barkeeps are not attentive, but they're hit or miss. We had a male & a female tending on the Friday we visited & the male was unfriendly, but the female, while not overly friendly, was attentive to us. It was a busy night even tho' no band was playing.It's a neighborhood bar & there are frequent patrons, so don't feel left out if you're not as noticed as the regulars.*recommend for it's "institutional" value!*
