Great place to watch a game, especially badgers or packers. They usually have several good beers on tap, and their cocktail list is interesting and unique. Their food hits well above the average mark. Pizza and fish are (separately) their specialties.
I am reviewing just because I have been here in the past and really enjoyed it, but the most recent time (sep 2024) the food was really disappointing. The calamari tasted like the fryer oil was well past it’s use on the good pieces, and some pieces were so fishy/off tasting we did not continue eating it after those bites. We got the specials, the whitefish was perfectly cooked and very clean tasting, but the rest of the dish was underwhelming and the sweet corn purée was indeed...
Restored my faith in Madison cuisine. Came late on a Friday. No problem finding seats for a group of five, but I understand it gets really busy. Cheese curds were best I remember ever having. Calamari was outstanding. The one honey blonde beer I had was good, not a huge selection of local drafts though.
They deserve 6 stars for bluegill sandwich and the side salad it came with, amazing! I think was ~$31 per person plus tip.
