Lovely restaurant, delicious sushi, went with family after MSO concert. Fantastic choices, soft shell crab was perfect. Weirdly aggressive waiter was the only glitch in an otherwise beautiful evening

The food at Red was very good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. The outdoor courtyard is a nice feature and made for a pleasant Sunday afternoon. A solid spot for a good meal in Madison.
This is a great sushi spot right off the capitol square. They pace the arrival of the food very well -- just when you finish one dish, another arrives. They have good vegetarian/vegan options too, so everyone can find something appealing.
Had a business trip in Madison, WI this week. The restaurant is close by so we reserved the seats here. Gosh, it certainly didn’t disappoint us. The sushi rolls were amazing and the sashimi was fresh and delicious. It was pleasant to dine outdoors there and the service was excellent too. Great food to try!
Awesome menu
Never disappoints
Absolutely amazing. The sushi is so fresh and the flavors are unique and delicious. I’ve come here a hand full of times for special occasions and it never fails to impress! The cocktails are also phenomenal.
We love!! Highly recommend.
Outstanding place for Sushi. We loved it. Cocktails selection is very unique. It’s an upscale place.
My girlfriend and I went for dinner and had a great experience. The miso soup was a standout—it was very flavorful and noticeably larger than the typical small cup you get at most Japanese sushi spots. A great start to the meal.
We also tried the samae, which came topped with a dusting of spice flakes and oil that added a nice kick without overpowering the dish.
For sushi, we ordered four signature rolls: Red Toro, Saigon, Bliss, and a seasonal vegan roll. Each one was fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The variety in flavors and textures really made the meal memorable.
Great service, great food, and definitely a place we’d return to.

RED has a lot of great vegetarian options, a friendly wait staff, and a really elegant space that makes it feel like a really special occasion to dine at. The prices are on the higher side (but it is an upscale sushi place so to be expected), but if you’ve got a reason to celebrate this a great place to do so. Will be back!
My husband and I have been to RED two years in a row to celebrate our anniversary. We LOVE it! It's such a nice atmosphere to enjoy an intimate dinner with lovely service. Neither of us eats much seafood but were intrigued by the vegan options, and they are SOOO good. (Good enough to go back a second year in a row to enjoy them again!) We're big fans of the Nutty Vegan and the Spicy Bok Choi rolls. There's also a nice drink menu with a variety of sake and imported beers.
Great food, service and environment. We had three different meals and everything was delicious. My sushi plate was colorful and yummy.
Spendy, but really good food. Have been here many times over the years and always enjoyed good cocktails and service, with some interesting rolls rotating. Enjoyed the Peruvian Coast and Tsunami at our last visit. Good for special occasions or a more upscale dinner. Also have some fun appetizers like short rib dumplings that were awesome.
Some of the best sushi I have had in Madison. High quality and tons of options.
