This is become the go to Bluegrass bar in Madison, with live music almost every night. Positive atmosphere, affordable drinks, really friendly bartenders, and an incredible vibe. It’s a default go to before high noon saloon or other places, lucky to have it as a gathering spot in Madison.
If you’re looking for the ultimate neighborhood bar, The Up North is it. Think Cheers, but with even friendlier bartenders (yes, that’s possible) and some of the most amazing live music around. It’s the kind of place where everyone truly knows your name—and if they don’t, they’ll learn it by the end of the night.

A classic Wisco bar with a long history. Great friendly service. Good venue for live music 🎶 as well. Has a patio for smokers and summer tables. Very casual and laid back vibe.
