Very unique experience if your willing to drive a few miles out into the country. Situated on the Wisconsin River is a free, 24/hr, 365 day a year (unless sub-freezing temps) car ferry. It is closed during the cold winter months. Seems like it fits up to 12 vehicles at a time. Very scenic ferry ride with a beautiful view of the railroad bridge crossing over the river. It takes about 20 minutes to and back so the wait isn't too long. There are ice cream shops on one side...

Not from this state but I can well say that by far the best ice cream around. They have a variety amount of good creamy flavours and also wonderful customer service. I will be definitely going back with my daughters.

My first ferry ride. It was pretty cool. I believe the website says youre supposed to stay in your vehicle but all these other people were getting out. Only a ten minute ride but worth the wait.
