Do not get the fried Walleye, there was so much oil on the plate it was a 1/4 inch deep, fries were soggy from it. Cheese curds are not cheese curds, they are 2x2 inch squares and taste more like grilled cheese. My kids who love cheese curds hated them. Also the service was sub par. I know they are short but still, we are okay with it when the service is still good.
While I have only ever had take out from here, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. For me, my go to is the Friday night Fish Fry. A good size order and great flavor. Pair it with a side of their large cheese curds. The curds are big and just full of cheesy goodness.I have had the chicken tender melt as well and it’s definitely a solid sandwich. Iconic local family-run restaurant with small town friendly vibe. We visited late October on a Saturday night and the joint was jumping: families, groups of fellas watching basketball, couples, kids. The food: not your average burgers- these are creative and substantial. Like onion rings—so good! House made sides! We ate well. Did I mention cocktails? Try the Brandy Manhattan — a Wisconsin classic.Also a jukebox!
