The service was excellent. The salmon was perfect. We would not recommend the walleye dinner. It was served with one piece of thin walleye with skin. By the time you removed the fish from the skin, there was very little to eat. Everything else was spot on including a nice wine list.
As a native German living in the southwestern U.S., I wish I could eat more often at The Depot. The German dishes are superb. Portions are large. And quality German beers are always on the drink menu! The meat is of a quantity that you probably will take part of your meal home. Especially since it is advisable to try an appetizer of potato pancakes. The Depot's version beats all of the other restaurants in the region that offer this item--by a wide margin.
The schnitzel fries are delicious as is the pretzel. I usually order the steak (steak done perfect to order) and shrimp, or schnitzel. Everything is great. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and it was very good. Partner ordered the seafood alfredo and it was delicious. Tasted friend's sauerbraten and it was phenomenal (will be ordering it next time)
