“We were with a group of ten, and many of them were first timers. We loved the variety of beers, games and the live band. We planned on a pit stop, and ended up spending 2 hours. Such a great atmosphere. We are excited to return when the patio opens up.“

Being from Wausau but having lived all over the country and traveled around the world it really stands out as a great local spot, with quality food, quality staff, and a charming atmosphere I always look for over a cheesy chain restaurant where everything is oversized and bland. Back When delivers on charm, the pasta is fresh and amazing, always cooked to perfection. The Fig crostini we had on Friday was to die for, I swear I could eat it everyday. The seared tuna was delightful, I love both the presentation and the freshness, the slaw that comes with it is just the right balance. The bolognese, salmon, and spinach salad with chicken we each ordered were fresh and perfect with beautiful presentation. The caramel crunch cake and homemade berry granola bar were the perfect ending. Awesome service, great to always see the owners mingling with guests and overseeing the food quality.
