After reading other reviews of the Crystal tavern the wife and I decided to give it a shot. It's true that you get free drinks if you're gambling! They have a few 4 seat tables and possibly the most comfortable bar stools I've ever sat on. The only thing that I didn't like about our experience was that our Jack and Cokes were extremely weak, like 1/2 of an ounce and served in a disposable cup. We found that place after driving several small towns on a Friday night. We saw people outside having a good time, so we decided to stop. To our surprise, we were welcomed as we were regular customers. Good atmosphere, good prices, nice music, outstanding service, and friendly customers. We'll definitely go back.

August 2022

Had lunch in Taylor's Falls and cruised over the state line to St. Croix Falls. Crystal Tavern doesn't look like much, but it was a quiet, cool respite from the heat. We stopped for a beer on August 2, 2022 and the bartender was warm, friendly and genuine. Just had one beer, played some pull tabs. They also have Heggies pizza, so yay for that! Plus a quality juke and some slot machines.
