I've stopped a few times for fresh bread, and sweet breads. They have some delicious ice cream and fruit drinks. Excellent tres leches cake served nice and cold. This place could be wonderfully addictive 🙂
We stopped by the Dessert Shop for a cool treat tonight 7/17/26. It was our first visit, but it definitely won’t be our last!
Earlier this week, my friend posted a strawberry Dubai chocolate ice cream bar, and I knew I had to try one. 🍓🍫 It did not disappoint! Ellie chose a popsicle, and Amery enjoyed an ice cream cone.

Dessert Shop is a gem in a small Midwest town, offering excellent ice cream, fresh fruit drinks, bakery, and bread. The tres leches cake is a standout, served nice and cold, delicious, and full of creamy vanilla flavor, with large pieces enough to share. The mango sherbet is mostly real mango turned into sherbet and amazing, while the homemade lime sherbet is sour. The shop has a huge menu with much more than just ice cream, including delicious-looking pastries and extra items of Mexican cuisine. The people here are very kind and attentive, and the place is very organized and very clean. The food and ice cream are amazing, natural, and fresh, with reasonable prices. The strawberry Dubai chocolate ice cream bar did not disappoint, and the place could be wonderfully addictive. It is worth the drive and the stop, with a nice family running the place.
