“We had a phenomenal dinner at The Ballering. We started with the baked brie, perfectly warm and gooey, paired beautifully with a bright raspberry coulis that struck just the right balance of sweet and tart. The tomato and goat cheese soup was rich, velvety, and full of comforting flavor.
The mushroom appetizer was a standout—earthy, savory, and wonderfully seasoned. For the main course, we went with the pork chop special, which was cooked to juicy perfection. The pan sauce was deeply flavorful and tied everything together beautifully, with creamy mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables rounding out the plate.
From start to finish, every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended.“

“Went for Sunday breakfast. Although the serve time was a bit long, the food was terrific and a gentleman named Don bought our breakfast. Apparently he owns a bar called outback on Kewaunee. excellrnt food and reasonably priced.“

“Had dinner on 11/24. This is a great small family run restaurant/ bar. Excellent menu,with all kinds of weekly specials. Well organized, excellent service, huge food quantities very fair prices. A must bucket list stop.“

“Stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago. Wow what I was missing. Exceptional food, great staff and a wonderful Kewaunee location. The other bonus for us was Guinness on tap. A family run place where everyone is on the same page to provide an exceptional experience. Don’t miss the wedge salad. Can’t wait till our next visit.“

“My SO and I ate at Anchor Down for Father's Day. The restaurant was rightfully crazy busy on such a day, but we got a table immediately and recieved great service. Our meals came quick and were phenomenal. I do think the restaurant could you a face lift, but don't let that keep you away: the food and the people were phenomenal. Must try!“

“Did a Google search for "best burger near me," and this place was on the list. Stopped in on our way home from hiking at Point Beach State Park. Dive bar like atmosphere with additional restaurant like seating area. Ordered at the bar, food was great, and the bartender lady (forgot her name, but her photos came up when I did the Google search) was awesome! Great conversation, very knowledgeable, loved and respected by all the locals, and awesome mixologist. I do not drink alcohol, and so she whipped up some amazing mocktails for me to enjoy. I will stop again every time I am in thelat area.“
