Gus's Diner Reviews
We stopped in for breakfast, and the food and service were outstanding, loud because of the hard surfaces, but they had such a tremendous customer base and the staff were so friendly. It was worth it. I know we'll be stopping there again on our way through..
My husband and I ate at Gus's Diner today and a very nice gentleman named Junior waited on us. He was very pleasant, came back to our table several times to check on our meal (which by the way was very good. Enjoyed the Chicken dumpling soup, half rack of ribs which we ended up taking home because it was a very generous portion) Thank you for such a nice experience at a very busy time of day in your restaurant with lots of customers to wait on.

Gus's Diner is a reliable and consistently good old-school diner that offers a satisfying dining experience. The food quality is consistently high, with menu items like biscuits and gravy, beef and noodles, and the Wisconsin Cheese Curd Burger receiving praise from customers. The service is generally good, with the staff being attentive and friendly, even when they are busy. The atmosphere is retro and nostalgic, transporting diners back to the good old days. Customers recommend trying the shakes and the pie, which are said to be delicious. While the chicken fried steak and corned beef hash may not be the standout dishes, the overall experience at Gus's Diner remains positive, making it a popular stop for travelers heading to Iowa. The restaurant is also known for handling large groups easily, with great service and great food. Visitors often find the atmosphere creative and unique, and the diner is kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible. Some customers feel the food is good but not always over the top, and the wide selection includes both diner classics and more contemporary options like a taco salad and traditional breakfast. The tables are kept clean and polished, adding to the charm of the place.
