Hotel Fortney is an absolute gem of a hotel. Between the historical motifs sprinkled around to the staff service to the care and attention to detail, everything about this place is phenomenal. We had the chance to dine at Nobel Rind, the front desk staff gave WONDERFUL recommendations for tourism spots and places to experience the best of Viroqua, and the amenities available on site make it an incredibly accessible space for all ranges of experiences. Quite truly the best hotel I have stayed at. Our room was spacious and beautiful, and had a lot of unexpected luxury comforts (heated bathroom floor, dimmable light, TV that connects to streaming services, rain shower head, a guest lounge with ample fridge space, etc.) The staff were all very polite, and the building is within walkable distance from a ton of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other fun places to window shop.

Everyone at Hotel Fortney (and in Viroqua) was so nice and welcoming! This was a wonderfully relaxing space for our mini-moon, and we hope to be back again. The only reason I marked the rooms 4/5 is because I would have loved to have had bathrobes, that plus the heated floors in the bathroom would have taken it over the top. Overall a really clean, comfortable stay that we will recommend to anyone looking for a getaway to the driftless.
