“Let’s start with 5 stars***** We visited Tally’s Tap on Wednesday October 8, 2025. This was our first visit. We spoke to a man on the way in, and he recommended the BBQ Ribs which was the ‘Homemade Dinner’ special - his name was Stan (a once a week regular). Inside we were promptly seated, and it was busy, with a full parking lot. Mike was our great waiter, and we also met Chad (another super friendly and knowledgeable waiter). I ordered a full rack of ribs, with Mac and cheese, fresh green beans, and corn bread for $24 (I think). Stan and Chad were right - the ribs were super tender, great BBQ sauce. I shared them with my husband and daughter and we all felt they were absolutely outstanding. Corn bread was very tasty as was the Mac and cheese. My husband ordered a wrap with grilled portobello, and a cilantro sauce - he said it was good. My daughter ordered a salad, with fried chicken sliced on top, and substituted the menu dressing for the green goddess. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was a lovely first visit, and we will be back! Thanks to the employees, and owners for making this such a great experience. By the way - I am very picky. I know good food because I worked in some great restaurants on the East Coast. It is tough to have me really love a meal - but you guys made that happen!“

“Stopped in for lunch and was glad I did. Friendly service from the jump—felt like a place where everyone knows each other, but newcomers are still welcome. Locals at the bar, couple of regulars playing games in the corner, and the staff chatting like it’s just another day in paradise.

It’s not quite a dive bar, but has that same laid-back, no-BS charm. Heard good things about the steak sandwich—can confirm it lives up to the hype. Solid lunch spot with a comfortable vibe, decent menu, and just enough grit to keep it real.“

“I called to order two meals for take for takeout and a young man by the name of Pano answer the phone and the first thing I noticed was his positive energy and how respectful and courteous he was when he was taking my order. He used words that you don't hear much of now a days like like hello, thank you for calling in, how can I help you, is there anything else you may want, repeating the order back to me with no mistakes, and here's the big one saying THANK YOU! And just like he said 15 minutes your order will be ready and it was. When I went to pick up he greeted me with a handshake and let me know how much he appreciated our business. Pano you are an exceptional representative for the restaurant polite, smart, unbelievable social skills and respectfulness, not to mention a great looking young man. Thank you for the great service Pano I see lots of success in your future.“

“I ordered the fish and shrimp combo, and man let me tell you, it was outstanding! I had the fish blackened Cajun style had them dust some Cajun seasonings on the perfectly fried shrimp. I thought I was in Florida. If you know you know!“

“My parents & I met here with my kids on a whim bc the original place we were going to had a long wait. We know a couple that frequents HSA so we thought we’d check it out. We had a great experience- food was good and our waiter was awesome! My only complaint would be the prices on everything. Up charge for everything - including to add fries & $3.50 for kids drinks is a little over the top. I understand the kids cups are probably not cheap but still. I’ve been to many places where we didn’t get charged for kids drinks & got the nice plastic cups. Asked for an extra side of ranch & was not told it would be an extra .85.

It was kid friendly but no kids menu. I bet it would be easy to come up with some creative kids options, that people would really enjoy. (some fun and creative kids’ menu name ideas: Mini Chopper Sliders, Roadster Chicken Bites, Lil’ Rider Fish Fry, Kid Cruiser Dog, Handlebar Grilled Cheese, Pit Stop Mac & Cheese, Easy Rider Chicken Tenders, Scooter Shrimp Sticks, BBQ Highway Skewers, and the Motor Mini Burger. Sides could include Chrome Tots, Cruiser Fries, Road Trip Veggie Cup, or Fuel-Up Fruit Sticks.). -How fun would some of those be :)

“Best burger and potato salad ever for super reasonable prices!! Bacon on the Burger was awesome. Good service despite not many people working. So sad no one wants to work in the hospitality industry anymore. Thankful for those who do!! Highly recommend! Burgers are always amazing!!“

“this place is fantastic with a great atmosphere. It was my family and I first time there. the food was excellent and my 10 year old son said these are the best "tater tots I have ever had" so we all tried them and he wasn't kidding. crispy and delicious 😋 I had the pulled pork mac n cheese burger and it was amazing 👏 we will definitely be back!“

“The kitchen at the hideaway puts out some excellent tasting seasonal dishes such as the short ribs. Toady I was able to sample the new smoked meat selection and oh, man the flavor is out of this world. The Ribs, lean brisket and fatty brisket is insanely good. The servers are excellent and friendly. Lexi was so polite and proper. On a very busy day when the kitchen was very backed up 1-1.5 hours she made sure to make us aware of the wait we had in store. We really appreciated that attention and heads up. The lake front dining experience that is somehow unique to hideaway vs. others on Okauchee was worth the wait. The staff and other customers are so friendly and inviting. The Hideaway is a family run business done right. I ran into a hideaway bartender at Kwik Trip on a random day and asked how he liked working there since a family member was looking for a serving or bartender job. He told me how he has worked in the industry many years all across lake country and has never been as happy with the environment of the restaurant and bar industry as he is with working at The Hideaway.“

“I had a delicious (& huge) hamburger. The seasoned fries were delicious. The waitress was helpful & prompt. It was nearly empty on Sunday night (post Packer Game). The music was a bit loud, but it's basically a bar.
We would like to come back in the summer when we can sit outside.“
