“Wonderful experience for dinner at Salvatore’s, E Wash & Livingston, Madison, WI.Crispy Calabrese Tofu was exquisite. Pizza great! Manda’s service was above and beyond. She was great with my 7 year old granddaughter!Vegetarian options: Crispy Calabrese Tofu exquisite!“
“IF is creative and amazing! My wife and popped in for a drink on a random Friday night and immediately fell in love with their drinks and service. After being there for about an hour we decided this was the place to have my wife’s birthday party. Hastings was very easy to work and helped plan an amazing party. They were able to curate an amazing drink menu and also have a creative N/A drink list. Since the Party was a brunch, many ppl enjoyed the different options. Both the night we popped in and the day of the party Kelsey took amazing care of us and our entire group. We had a large party, but the staff never struggled keeping up. We were also able to bring in our food for the brunch which was a plus. I cannot say enough about this place, I highly recommend for fun evening and especially a private party!“
“I can’t say enough about this wonderful bar. I was hesitant to write this review just because I don’t want this gem to get too busy that I can’t find a table! But of course this place deserves way more than a 5 star review. Staff is friendly (understatement), drinks are out of this world (understatement) and everytime my girlfriend says “can we go to Oz?” I can’t say no! Such a unique place and the staff are so incredibly accommodating. I could say wayyyy more great things but I’ll stop here for now!! Love love love!“
“Attended Muskellounge's Three Dots & A Dash collab. Drinks were spectacular, and the kitchen staff were on fire. We ordered a weekly special (burger/cheesesteak blend) and the chicken tender basket. 10/10 fantastic. I would strongly recommend checking this place out if you haven't yet.“
“Frequent here often as it’s right around the corner from where we live. The craftsmanship behind every cocktail is wonderful. Would recommend an aviation or one of their seasonal cocktails on tap! Very friendly staff and always a good time.“
“My husband and I have visited Plain Spoke a couple times and decided to host a welcome party for our wedding guests. The planning process was simple and Steph was very kind to answer all our questions. We were originally going to use both the bar and private event space, but ended up just using the bar area and it worked out well for the amount of attendees. The draft cocktails made for quick service for the group and everyone enjoyed the variety of both pre-made and built cocktails. You can also include food from the downstairs YoungBlood kitchen which was delicious. Great venue option for a private event!“
“Different twist on classic supper club offerings, but all delicious.Pork chop with cherry compote was superb. Had the charred carrots based on reviews and they did not disappoint, unusual and delicious. The burnt apple jam cake was absolutely amazing.“
“Stopped in on a whim before a show at the Overture and so pleased that we did! It's beautifully decorated, provides an impressive gin menu, and has a great SOCIAL atmosphere. The menu is creative without being inaccessible, the plates were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We tried the lobster roll and the red snapper, but saw so many of the other dishes as they were happily received by other guests. The food we had was without flaw, and the cocktails were pretty and perfectly balanced. Still, perhaps the best part of our experience was the excellent service! We were fortunate to have a great duo of bartenders on a Wednesday eveing who (from someone in the industry) worked so wonderfully as a team, kept a tidy bar, and expertly crafted each cocktail for the packed house while still remaining so attentive to us diners at the bar. The service was so outstanding from the moment we entered the door, it outshined even the immaculate menu offerings.“
“I like the place a lot. I've been there in the evening before but never for brunch. My potatoes were wildly overcooked, but the breakfast burrito was delicious. We waited a LONG time after we got our food for our server to return, but he never did until I called out to him. As if we'd disappeared. So that was weird and a little irritating.“
“Stopped by at the end of happy hour to check out dinner and drinks. Sat by the window and had a view of King St festivities and the capital. Had the shrimp fajitas and birra tacos. The fajitas were a good portion size and flavorful. The tacos were good as well. Would recommend for Mexican food in downtown Madison.“
“The friendliest restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. The food was hot and came out within 10 minutes. Not only will I go back but I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.Kid-friendliness: The servers were extremely kind and my son loved the kitty cocktails.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp that is a bit long to get to but has a nice gradual incline.“
“If you don't like Lola's you must be the only one in Madison. I know because everytime I have gone to Lola's everyone in Madison is trying to get in there. The atmosphere is terrific, the drinks are great and the food is basic but very creative. Try it, you'll like it!“
“This is a fairly large bar with 18 seats, and 12 tables, located in the Edgewater Hotel. It's sister restaurant, the Statehouse, is a high end eatery with fabulous views of Lake Mendota.Augie's was named after long time owner of the hotel, who was jovial and friendly with patrons. I found this spot, certainly the bar, still seating talkative and genuine friendly folks. We came here on Thanksgiving Day, and enjoyed local brews (Spotted Cow) and a tasty Bloody Mary. PIC had the turkey dinner, and at $26, was a big MEH. It was all dark meat that was fatty, semi-good mashed potatoes and dressing and sprouts. Pumpkin pie was likely frozen. However, I had their Augie's burger, and at $18, it was a steal!! Two smashed patties, smokey strips of bacon, cheese, lettuce, REAL tomato, onions and drippy-but-yum aioli and crispy hand cut fries- I finished that baby off with pleasure!Patrons at the bar included locals and hotel guests, who clued us in to their Friday fish fry. Unfortunately, it was Thursday, so no dice. But... the fry includes marble rye, coleslaw, fries, tartar sauce, and cod for $18. And, there's a kid-size fish fry for $9. (I think they also have perch, for an up charge.)Both bartenders were very kind and efficient, especially for having to work on a holiday. There is free street parking a block away, or underground parking for a charge.Augie's is two blocks from the Capitol Building, and has large picture windows, looking out into the neighborhood. The upscale Statehouse restaurant is adjacent, with water views, but if you are looking for something more casual, Augie's is the spot!Side note... they had Clock Shadow fried cheese curds and eight different beers, all from WI local businesses.“
“Overall was good me and my friend went here and ordered 2 things chicken wings and cheese curds and just saying the curds are the best I ever had and that’s saying something I have had my curds in my time will get again when I come back but I don’t recommend the chicken wings they are not good. and the menu didn’t have any prices so I assumed just getting 2 appetizers would be probably like 15-20 bucks turns out just the two appetizers was $40 which I know you can charge whatever you want but 40 dollars for 2 appetizers is outrageous but apart from the price would highly recommend just don’t order the chicken wings there bad just get all cheese curds you won’t regret it“
“Such a cool vibe in Madison- literally a House Bar. Multiple bars- 3 floors to explore. Super cozy and fun. Awesome drink options. Bartenders were a little dazed and confused it appeared (forgot they served us and when waiting for our last drink, they asked what we wanted to ordered, and started to completely remake our order). But other than that, it’s sweet and would recommend. Love that you can get Gramps pizza and bring it over to eat.“
“We stayed at the Indigo on 3/28/24 and absolutely loved the service. We stayed in the bar area (7pm) and the bartender was excellent, made us an amazing Wisconsin Old Fashion Sour, excellent professional and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious and quickly served. We casually mentioned that my wife's birthday was the day before and the manager I assume, ( very friendly and professional, bald gentleman) brought us a Keylime pie out of nowhere! She was extremely happy. You guys rock, thank you so much and we have been here before and continue to stay here because of the amazing service. Both at the restaurant and at the hotel, hotel staff is also very friendly and even gave our dog a doggie biscuit. This is our all time favorite place to stay whenever we are in Madison. Thank you guys! Never change, you are the best. -Cris and Nikki“
“Me, my boyfriend and his brother got together for a nice dinner in Madison! I’m from the Milwaukee area so we wanted to find a place with great food and a view for a special occasion, and this was THE best choice! One of our party’s flights got delayed and they accommodated our reservation change! We ordered pork tacos, the chef special gnocchi, calamari fries, four-cheese flatbread and the pork belly bites. Everything was absolutely amazing and so tasty, with more flavor than expected! Everything was piping hot and delicious, and our waitress was awesome. The atmosphere was lovely with an amazing view of the capital building. It was an amazing evening, thank you for such great food and service!“
“I would call this an upscale dive bar. Essentially a traditional bar environment with amazing food. Limited menu but delicious. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere and every staff member was super. Definitely stop in your way through. If we were local we'd probably be regulars.“
