“Surprised at this little joint! We came with a friend who was new to the area and loved how friendly the gal working was. The drinks were strong and priced very well, and they gave us free hotdogs that were shockingly good! I was able to get up to a pretty good amount on the multi-game machine but, in true gambling fashion, gave it all back to the house. Make sure you bring cash with you to avoid ATM fees and your ID, but we will certainly be back!“

“Recently found this little gem. I love to dance and this is the place for me ❤️ the DJ plays an array of genres and keeps the music jumping all night! Also they have a mechanical bull that is so exciting to ride! Bartender's are amazing and beautiful! Bouncers always make me feel very safe. “We had a delicious meal and great drinks! We had fresh oysters (Blue Point & Sweet Jesus)- very fresh and great flavor! The Lobster Roll and Crabcake Sandwich were excellent. For sides we had brussel sprouts and potato salad. Our cocktail choices were the Bees Knees and an Old Fashioned made with Mezcal. The atmosphere is fun! You can tell the owner/operator is very passionate about his restaurant and they are doing a great job. We can’t wait to return!“

““Steak dinner” - ~9 Oz ribeye, beans and rice, fries. Great home style meal. Everything’s made to order, so it did take a little while for the food to come out. (Guessing 20-25 minutes; we weren’t in a rush, so I wasn’t tightly tracking.)Food came out perfect. It was warm without being broiling. The steak was medium-well, evenly cooked, and not the least bit dry, to my pleasant surprise. It kicked the keester of anything I ever got at Outback. Beans, rice, and fries all precisely what one would expect in a home-style meal. All of it was exactly right — neither overdone nor underdone. My wife also tried their collard greens, which were also spot-on. Not pictured because they didn’t last long. ? 10/10 for execution.All in with a soda was $23.50 before tip. CASH ONLY (for now?); they weren’t taking cards when we were there. The on-site ATM has a $3 fee. They had a new cash register in a box on the bar, so perhaps this is changing.The proprietor is a nice lady and chatted with us a bit, seated out front on the patio enjoying the weather. The restaurant itself is a small, low-key converted store of a restaurant, with a limited menu of home-style soul food. Nothing more, nothing less. If that sounds good to you, I’d say give it a shot. After this, we intend to go back to try the chicken dinner.And, don’t mind the road work — we had no issues getting there and street parking from the Old Town side of Kent St. They seem to be set up for online ordering as well, presumably for pick-up, but we didn’t try that this time.Parking: Mostly street parking. Watch out for house driveways.Kid-friendliness: There was a family there with four or five kids dominating the bar. The staff was handling them expertly.“

“Unfortunately after many years the business has permanently closed while the state widens the road. Loved meeting friends regularly at the Rainbow Diner on Saturday mornings for breakfast. Good food, and great service. Stopped one last time the last day they were open on March 30, 2024. It was a sad day.“

“Great sports dive bar!The sports atmosphere is great, they have several TVs, good beer selection, GREAT food, and awesome prices. We've been here a few times on a Saturday and finally came in for NFL Sunday. They have NFL ticket and will show every game being televised. The wings are some of the best in the area. Burgers are great, too. I think this is our new favorite go to for sports viewing!“

“My husband and I stopped for lunch on our snow bird ride north. We ordered the Brunswick stew which was the best we’ve ever had. The sauce was incredible. The service was friendly and efficient. This was enough to ensure a stop on our trip north or south… but wait, there’s more! I somehow left my credit card there but didn’t notice until we were 2 states beyond. Ordinarily I would have cancelled the card and requested a new one, but I ha a good feeling about the people here so I asked if they would charge $10 as a token of my appreciation mail it back. They said it was a small thing to do and they would not charge the account. When I got home, there was the card, already in my mailbox. I am grateful and want you to know that the food, service, and honesty of the staff all rate a 5 +“

“best wings I've ever had! I opted for the sweet honey bbq sauce which did not disappoint and the fries were so delicious. they must have been house made. and the service was good considering how busy they were. we are going to make this a regular spot!“

“Attended the St. Patrick's Day Masters of Comedy Show. While the show/substance itself wasn't actually all that great (2 out of 5 comedians made me laugh), the food at the bar and grille was Fantastic! Everything was hot and fresh and the portion sizes were more than we could eat! Bartenders were busy but did a great job. Thanks for a great meal and a reason to visit! Wouldn't have found this place if it weren't for them advertising the show (we just came to visit the area, are not locals).“
