We basically drive from Fairmont about every 2-3 weeks just to order their Cheese Wontons. They are my elderly mothers favorite thing, however the last 2 orders, either they got a new cook, changed the recipe or got new ownership. There wontons used to be flaky on outside cooked perfectly and so creamy and full on the inside. THe last 2 times been fried rock hard and the filling was alot less and very dry. Anyone got the 411? I ordered the pepper and broccoli steak. The container wasn't full like the other items I had ordered. I paid $10.25 paid an extra $1 for fried rice. So I am really disappointed in this. I really miss the old owners. I usually order General Tso chicken. I felt like beef tonight big mistake.
I have spent years trying to find a good Chinese restaurant that knows how to make good cheese wontons. As a veteran military wife, we have seen quite the number of Chinese restaurants in each location we have been stationed. NOBODY has even come close to Happy Garden! Not only were their cheese wontons phenomenal, but their pork fried rice was amazing, the service was FAST and friendly too!!
