We ate here for lunch on a day trip to Shepherdstown. We will plan a weekend trip to come back and stay at the hotel. Very quaint. The service from the staff was top notch. Every person we passed greeted us and smiled, very welcoming. The Brussel sprout appetizer was the best part of our meal. Had the wedge salad, Holzfaller Burger, and the Reuben. All were tasty but I’ll try something different next time. The facility and grounds are beautiful, quaint, and cozy. Has modern updated areas. But still maintaining historical elements. Lovely day trip. Ava check out the infinity pool over the Potomac!Food & drinks: Food is delicious. Great variety while still maintaining Bavarian theme. Vegetarian options.

We stayed at the Bavarian Inn for a day and it exceeded our expectations. The Potomac View Premier room was beautiful. We had a jacuzzi tub for two, a huge shower, a fireplace, a nice refrigerator, and a balcony. It was clean and very spacious. I'm not picky or pretentious, so the minor cosmetic flaws in the room did not bother me at all. The food at the restaurant was good, but I am not accustomed to eating German food, so I’m not a fair judge. If you are not an adventurous eater, I would say stick with what you know or do some quick research. All in all, the Bavarian Inn was great and we look forward to another visit in the summer. I would recommend it to anyone.Rooms: The Potomac View Premier room is well worth the price. It features a comfortable king-sized bed, a jacuzzi tub for two, a huge shower, two sinks, a fireplace, a nice refrigerator, and a balcony. There is also an office desk with two chairs, another area with two comfortable chairs and a coffee table. It was clean and spacious for the two of us. I can't complain!

Came for the restaurant and it happened to be restaurant week which was an amazing deal. Their cream soup is one of the most delicious soups I've had! The black forest cake was also most and delightful. Service was great and the ambulance felt like a German village in the middle of the mountains. Definitely worth visiting!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights with his parents at the end of the summer last year and it was absolutely beautiful! Our room was beautiful and spacious. The staff was friendly and cleaned our room often. I love how they always brought extra towels. The infinity pool overlooked the river- such a beautiful view!! We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant and both were delicious.We also loved going into shepherdstown and exploring all the little shops! It’s such a lovely and hip college town!

We decided to stay here for one night as work was being done at our house. It wasn't our first visit but were enjoyed it just as much this time. The staff is very professional, helpful, and welcoming. The room was a nice size with a small balcony overlooking the main building and grounds, rather than the Potomac River as could be had at a higher cost. The bed was a bit soft but the room was clean and neat with robes provided for guests. The Bavarian Inn is best suited for special occasions and provides a nice getaway in the charming town of Shepherdstown.We also had dinner and breakfast in the dining room and the food was very good, with special attention to traditional German dishes. Service in the dining room was impeccable. The one beer I had, the Stout, was brewed onsite and was quite tasty.

Ate at the restaurant, did not stay at the hotel. The chairs definitely need an upgrade and we're so uncomfortable, it detracted from my experience. Food was standard German fare, though uninspired. The beer is fine. A nice evening regardless and the staff was pleasant.
A really wonderful and romantic place with a lovely dinner in the restaurant. A nice experience also with the staff in particular Miss Faith who looked after my dinner impeccably.
