“I can't say enough positive things about this place! Did a women's mt bike clinic and stayed at the Elk River Lodge. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food was fantastic! It surprised us because it's way out there in the forest and we didn't expect top chef! But we got it! I'd go back in a heartbeat :)“

“Went here a little while back. Was staying in the area and gave Almost Heaven a try. I have had barbecue all over the lower United States. Specially all southern states. I have to say this place has some of the best brisket I have ever had. Excellent smoke flavor, tender has can be. An absolute must try. The alligator fried rice I had also was out of this world. Also tried the breakfast. Talking about superb. The bacon was amazing. To be honest anything you want to try on the menu is going to be a winner. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALMOST HEAVEN SMOKEHOUSE. You will not be disappointed.“

“Great food, drinks and music. We got the bianca pizza and then headed outside for a drink on their deck during their deck party during our ski trip. They had a couple of DJs out there playing great music along with an outdoor bar. All of the staff were very friendly as well.“

“If you're skiing, stop in for a hot fresh waffle. Our family bought these three days in a row while at snowshoe. The cost is $6 plus another $1 for chocolate sauce on top, which my kids wanted every time, $21 spent there three days in a row. It was yummy though.“

“My wife and I just wanted a quick meal on our last night visiting and we ordered takeout. Definitely the best place to eat on the mountain. The food quality and portions were spot on. Would recommend as the place to eat while visiting.“

“Really nice ambiance and a nice dinner option on the mountain. We were able to make a reservation a day before going. The staff was very friendly, but when we went there was only one waiter serving the entirety of the restaurant while there were multiple hosts waiting at check-in. The pork chops were lovely, and the rest of the table agreed all of their meals were pretty good as well. The carrot cake is HUGE (the menu even says to share it) and it was fairly decent but not out of this world. I'd recommend going here one evening if looking for a nicer option one night if here for a good chunk of time- a good option for larger groups. Note you'll be able to hear the bar music above, but we didn't mind.“

“We decided to get takeout on a wet rainy night and it was a great idea! Pro tip - if you don’t want to risk bad service or long waits, get take out and watch Korean variety shows in your room instead!In all seriousness though, the food we got was really really good. I got the chicken Alfredo which isn’t the most *traditional* of Alfredos I’ve had but it was really tasty with big chunks of chicken. My husband got the burger and commented on how big and juicy it was.Although we didn’t eat in the restaurant, I definitely would be willing to do so if we come back again. The interior was nice and modern-looking with a decent amount of seating (although I can see it getting busy in peak season).“
