“2024 Update: Been here nine times now since 2022, & in that time we haven't been anywhere else more than twice, & also we live 25 mins away, & also we've been most everywhere else noteworthy in Portland. That we keep coming back here hopefully tells you how incredibly wonderful we think it is. It's like Banff and Jasper where, yeah we could go other places, but might as well keep coming back here til they stop being so much better than anything elseCurrently the salmon with saffron/cured garlic aioli and crispy potatoes and green garlic salsa verde is unbelievably good, easily one of the best things we've ever had, a lifetime memory we'll never forget. The type of thing you take a bite of and time slows down and a smile creeps onto your face and you just want to make the feeling last forever. And you say something like "aaah oh my god this is insane". But we expect to find something new like that every time we come, they always have at least 3-4 of the best things we've ever had on the menu at any given time no matter the season. I have this ranked 3rd overall only behind Nodoguro in Portland, which is 3x the price, & Robuchon in Vegas, which is 5x the price. Ahead of Kann, Langbaan, Tercet, Le Pigeon, Urdaneta, way ahead of Jacqueline, etc etc.--Update again: been here 5 or 6 times now and every single time it's Just Amazing. There're other places as good as this in Portland but all of them are twice the price (tercet, le pigeon, langbaan)--One of the best restaurants we've ever been to (#2 specifically), & the best in the PNW so far. So many interesting unique flavors, everything so creative and delicious. The scallops specifically were one of the best things I've ever had, also loved the octopus, the crab beignets, the root vegetable trio, the chocolate mousse. $75/person with 4 courses each.Update: Been here two more times and every time we come we have at least a couple new "one of the best things I've ever had" dishes. The new gnocchi with the belper knolle is about the most comforting thing I've ever had, the freakin burger is unreal. For the price, under $100 per person, I can't recommend any restaurant more highly than this“
“I totally loved this place. Its a recent find for me as I have only recently had PDX added to my patch and now have cause to travel there regularly. Airport food can be very hit and miss but this place hits the spot. The lady that served me was really nice and funny - Its nice to have a positive interaction like that - especially that early in the morning. The food is well prepared and presented and the menu has something for everyone. If you need brekkie in PDX this is the place to go.“
“The Bistro food is amazing! I eat here all the time. It's a hidden gem in Bethany that's open to the public even if it is inside a private gym. Everyone loves the Bento boxes and barbeque skewers. Their chefs are always coming up with yummy food to eat. They have meal preps that you can order to take home and every dish is below 500 calories. The food is so good they started catering for events because people were asking for it.“
“We have been coming here for a few years for an early pre-Symphony Concert dinner and always thought the food was good value for downtown Portland. The new menu this fall has added some interesting items - I had the Short Rib Cottage Pie and it was excellent and made with sweet potatoes. It came with a Petite Green Salad which was anything but Petite - I did not finish mine! My wife had the Quiche of the Day which was butternut squash. She was impressed how the pastry stayed so firm and crisp when using butternut squash and asked our waiter how it was done. A couple of minutes later the chef came out to talk to us and explain all. This is the second time she had come to talk to us when we had a question - great customer service from a charming lady! As in my earlier review my only complaint is the over-priced wines. We take our own and pay the corkage - the only place in the Portland area we do that as we prefer to support restaurants that take wine seriously and do not overprice them. However, their glass pours are generous at about 6 oz. We'll be back for our next Synphony Concert.“

“My wife and I had a fantastic brunch at Ovation. Try the Bloody Mary - delicious! I had the Eggs Benedict and my wife had the Pancakes. Both were expertly prepared. Romano has created a cute comfortable café experience where he treats his guests like family. We enjoyed the great meal and the experience and we'll definitely be back.“
“This place was clean and everyone was friendly. Stayed for three days and cleaned my room once, breakfast was included. Certain items included but still good and had plenty of options. Gym was clean and patio was wonderful to sit around in the morning and turn on the fire pit.“

“An absolute delight for brunch! I was in Portland for only a day and 2 people highly recommended this spot and it did not disappoint. They usually have a great list of specials. I had the pancakes with strawberry and whipped cream, the salmon hash, French press coffee and cinnamon pecan roll.Everything was delicious and felt like it was homemade from fresh ingredients. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, gave us lots of suggestions on what and how to order. The cafe has an overall fancy french bistro vibe“
