“We don’t encounter a lot of Romanian food stops so I was pretty excited to find one here.Food is delicious - flavor is on point and exactly how my in laws would make their soups and creamy mash potatoes.Owner is also really nice and personable.“

“We each had a combo plate, which were very large, we could have easily share one and gotten some appetizers. The bread was so good- it was as if foccassia and pita /or Naan bread had a baby. The link sausages and their special Chevapi had such great flavor. You can really taste the mix of regional cultures in the food. it made me look up more about the region because I had no idea of the flavorful influences. Highly recommend!“

“Came here with a group from a conference nearby and had an amazing meal with excellent wine selections and recommendations. We knew in advance that our fixed menu would be $95/pp plus wine. We had a delicious meal and would happily return on our next visit to Portland!Highly recommend the focaccia (the butter is to die for) and the rabbit. Thank you for an excellent evening!“

“Absolutely divine experience! I took my friend there for her birthday, and we both ordered the polenta and prawns. It was so delicious. I had no words to describe it to the waitress! We will definitely be back. The service from the person who sat us, to the waitress, to the overall quality of food was impeccable. Can't wait to go back!“

“2024 Update: Been here nine times now since 2022, & in that time we haven't been anywhere else more than twice, & also we live 25 mins away, & also we've been most everywhere else noteworthy in Portland. That we keep coming back here hopefully tells you how incredibly wonderful we think it is. It's like Banff and Jasper where, yeah we could go other places, but might as well keep coming back here til they stop being so much better than anything elseCurrently the salmon with saffron/cured garlic aioli and crispy potatoes and green garlic salsa verde is unbelievably good, easily one of the best things we've ever had, a lifetime memory we'll never forget. The type of thing you take a bite of and time slows down and a smile creeps onto your face and you just want to make the feeling last forever. And you say something like "aaah oh my god this is insane". But we expect to find something new like that every time we come, they always have at least 3-4 of the best things we've ever had on the menu at any given time no matter the season. I have this ranked 3rd overall only behind Nodoguro in Portland, which is 3x the price, & Robuchon in Vegas, which is 5x the price. Ahead of Kann, Langbaan, Tercet, Le Pigeon, Urdaneta, way ahead of Jacqueline, etc etc.--Update again: been here 5 or 6 times now and every single time it's Just Amazing. There're other places as good as this in Portland but all of them are twice the price (tercet, le pigeon, langbaan)--One of the best restaurants we've ever been to (#2 specifically), & the best in the PNW so far. So many interesting unique flavors, everything so creative and delicious. The scallops specifically were one of the best things I've ever had, also loved the octopus, the crab beignets, the root vegetable trio, the chocolate mousse. $75/person with 4 courses each.Update: Been here two more times and every time we come we have at least a couple new "one of the best things I've ever had" dishes. The new gnocchi with the belper knolle is about the most comforting thing I've ever had, the freakin burger is unreal. For the price, under $100 per person, I can't recommend any restaurant more highly than this“

“My wife and I had a fantastic brunch at Ovation. Try the Bloody Mary - delicious! I had the Eggs Benedict and my wife had the Pancakes. Both were expertly prepared. Romano has created a cute comfortable café experience where he treats his guests like family. We enjoyed the great meal and the experience and we'll definitely be back.“

“Chicken taco combination plate, and chicken sope.... And for me- Two vegan sopes. So far so good. Been here twice and both times no disappointments. Food was delicious and most important to me and my lunch partner; was the fact that they were completely fine with not deep frying the sopes. that is a huge positive and fundamental thing for me.... So a big thank you to Vancouver Taqueria. One thing they could tweak to make things better would be offering whole beans or at least making the beans less thin and runny. Make sure you tell them no rice on your sope if you don't say that and forget to mention it..... For sure your sope will be served with rice on top. The salsas were all tasty and had a great kick. Service was fine. Funny aside this is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant. However if my info is correct the cook is Central American and the cashier is Guatemalan. Idk 100%. But theirs no Mexicans cooking or running the place. Somebody correct me if what I was told is incorrect.. thanks. Ambiance it's a small place inside. Nothing fancy. We got our food to go both visits. We both really enjoyed our food..and between the two of us. We are very picky about food and restaurants. And Vancouver Taqueria... Past the test. Food was delicious. You can taste the care and time put into it.“

“My mom is from Switzerland and we visit very often, I saw Swiss Hibiscus online and having never been to a Swiss restaurant in America we knew we had to try it. It absolutely blew us away, every single dish tasted as if it came straight from Switzerland and honestly tasted better than some restaurants IN Switzerland. I had somewhat low expectations coming in because every German type restaurant had disappointed me in the past but we were continuously impressed with every dish and how utterly authentic it was. We practically licked our plates clean, I cannot fully express how happy I am to have found this place and will for sure be coming back many many more times. Absolutely 10/10, I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful place.“
